The Primavera will approach next week’s Viareggio Cup opener in top form after extending their championship winning streak to 12 games courtesy of this afternoon’s 2-0 home triumph over Fiorentina.
Following a combative opening half hour at Chisola, Marco Baroni’s side edged themselves in front when Padovan displayed his killer instinct in front of goal by turning Tavanti’s cross home on 35 minutes.
The second half saw Juventus required to weather a significant spell of Fiorentina pressure, with Branescu called into action on several occasions to keep the visitors at bay.
But Padovan would eventually have the final say, pouncing in added time to double his tally and seal an important success.
The three points, which lift Baroni’s side seven clear of second-placed Torino, will serve as an added confidence boost as the Bianconeri look ahead to Monday afternoon’s Viareggio Cup opening fixture against Maribor.
