The Primavera are gearing up for their return to championship action. After their victorious Viareggio Cup campaign was followed up with a Coppa Italia semi-final success, Marco Baroni’s side will now focus their sights on the league for the first time in a month.

Baroni will be without several players for the trip to Cagliari. Six are away with the Italy Under-19s (Rubin, Liviero, Schiavone, De Silvestro, Beltrame and Padovan), Gouano misses out through suspension, while Untersee, Ruggiero and Carfora are sidelined with injuries.

Recent arrival Ouasim Bouy is expected to make his championship bow after impressing in first team training and adding his name to the scoresheet in Wednesday’s friendly against Novese.

Next week will see the Primavera face Roma in the first leg of the Coppa Italia final, to be played at Juventus Stadium on Thursday evening.
