I hate what football is turning into. Before long it will be enough to be fast and strong in order to be a professional football player.
I watched the first half and I see that the technically superior players are the worst on the pitch, because they are not used to the tempo and they are not fast enough.

Such a shame that the EPL, built on speed and strength as prerequisites, is the richest league in the world. It ruined football for me.
@CrimsonianKing been saying it for years.

Those are athletes, not footballers anymore. Boring too watch.

Turning into? It's already been this way for at least 15 years. I said it back then and I'll say it again, the moment the English style took over football is when it died. Styles matter, it's what gave Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Argentina, Italy and all major Footballing nations their identity. To me, speed, strength and constant high pressure as the main requisites are already deeply implemented into today's football and it's been for ages.

What makes this worse is that it's all becoming a one brand of football where every team plays very much alike and players are about the same level, its all about being an unit where #9's whose main job was to score goals have to trace back and run just as much as the rest of the team.

In the future players won't get to develop the skills needed for the Maradonas and Ronaldinhos of the world to exist. These will be extremely rare.

Cherki is such a moron going to the Prem. He should have went to Shitaly.
Cherki is a lazy player. He doesn't trackback. IT's a reason why it takes to long for another team to sign him. He has been a wonderkid for years but big clubs hesitate to make a move because he's so lazy in transition.
Nowadays only if you are in prime messi, CR, Neymar, Mbappe level you are given the permission to only jog around.

That's what happens when you don't fight back, the new status quo takes root, the sickness spreads, and soon it contaminates everything. Add to that sports institutions warped by politics, regional rivalries, greed, envy, and this is the outcome. The classic football built on individuality, prestige, and old glories is gone. As you said, the downfall maybe started 15 years ago, the end of a cycle in European football. Others have struggled to keep up with the PL's rise but Italy is in an even worse spot. Unlike Bayern in Germany or Barça in Spain, we have no pull and no leverage even nationally.
Even in EA FUT, which is their cash cow, the entire meta mirrors the PL, speed, strength, and pay-to-win. Everywhere you look, the old passion is gone, replaced by a glossy illusion that pretends life is better. But it isn't.

Is Pep burned out?

Only second game into the new season, but one could think so. I don’t think he can give more to this City team.
Pep will come out and whine or make a sarcastic statement about how his club only spends money and no one else in England does.

No one plays the victim and tries to make himself the underdog more than Pep when adversity hits.

Pep is fine along as he has easily the strongest team to pick and they all suit his style. He'll guarantee you a title in that case.

I dont know where you get the "every team plays very much alike". Liverpool clearly has a very different style from City than from Arsenal. Similarly PSG is different than Barca than Madrid. And ofc Inter has been different from Napoli's style of football. Which teams are exactly alike? There's a variety of styles.

I'd say the same for players too. We just came out of the Messi era a player far more technical than anyone before him, and the next top talent is Yamal who's also very technical. Some of the highest potential players out there like Wirtz or Musiala or Pedri. I am not seeing teams full of Ronadlos or pure workhorses.

Tottenham has been by far the toughest opponent for City for the past 7-10 years I think. They hardly ever beat them.
Palhinha is a good signing for them on loan from Bayern. Not succesful in Bayern like Douglas with us and return to PL with loan and option to buy for €30m.

There's a reason players like Palhinha and Douglas consistent performer in PL and PL clubs should try to sign them based on that and not 1 season underpeformance in other leagues
