They buy smartly, as, although they buy other players, they don't seem to spend as much as others despite these record fees, and always seem to have money available to get the player they want, someone who looks like they will be truly world class and improve the team. Alisson and Van Dijk have been linchpins and are basically legends, I wouldn't bet against Wirtz being the same.

In all fairness, weren't both of those deals done right around the time of the Coutinho sale, where they took Barca to the cleaners?

Liverpool fans are funny in how they want to act like the little sisters of the poor and can't compete with the likes of City and Chelsea in the league, yet, they're still one of the top spending clubs in the world. They act like they're Udinese.

I don't understand the victim mentality of fans wanting to act like you don't spend money and are a poor club.

Reading EPL fans bickering back and forth on twitter about who spends more is just laughable and stupid.

I guess we could have bought Kepa and Fofana.

I would argue that we can spend when we need to but we definitely can’t spend at the level of Chelsea, Man City or even Man United. We’re definitely not poor though.
