They buy smartly, as, although they buy other players, they don't seem to spend as much as others despite these record fees, and always seem to have money available to get the player they want, someone who looks like they will be truly world class and improve the team. Alisson and Van Dijk have been linchpins and are basically legends, I wouldn't bet against Wirtz being the same.

In all fairness, weren't both of those deals done right around the time of the Coutinho sale, where they took Barca to the cleaners?

Liverpool fans are funny in how they want to act like the little sisters of the poor and can't compete with the likes of City and Chelsea in the league, yet, they're still one of the top spending clubs in the world. They act like they're Udinese.

I don't understand the victim mentality of fans wanting to act like you don't spend money and are a poor club.

Reading EPL fans bickering back and forth on twitter about who spends more is just laughable and stupid.

I guess we could have bought Kepa and Fofana.

I would argue that we can spend when we need to but we definitely can’t spend at the level of Chelsea, Man City or even Man United. We’re definitely not poor though.

lol 100 euros to watch a near relegation team play. The balls on those guys

- - - Updated - - -

Oh wait, that’s the most important expensive one? That’s not terrible I suppose, as long as other tickets aren’t affected.

I’m too used to US ticket pricing

MLS prices aren't the worst thankfully.

Mykhailo Mudryk charged by FA over doping. He is facing a 4 year ban.

Few thoughts:
- His career is probably over.
- How many years does he have left on his Chelsea contract? 6?
- Imagine being caught doping while underperforming to the level of Mudryk. Mudryk's dealer in the mud. Worst sales pitch for your gear.

€70m for this guy as well. One of the bigger flops I can think of. Won't bother Chelsea too much though with that long contract amortisation.

Can he get a doping ban for coke? I feel like he is someone who would do coke.

 He already sucks, now imagine him without the doping.
