Ten Haag seems to be some sort of messianic figure over on redcafe. A lot of posters there are of the opinion that he is the manager who will lead them back to their rightfull place in the footballing world. It would be an absolute riot if he went over there and does worse than Ole .

It's a defense mechanism.

They are stuck between him and Poch neither of whom is a great option. They wanna have hope and so their brains trick them into thinking they are better than they are. They want to believe the hype it's just too depressing otherwise.

Ofc reality will play out and break that bubble soon enough

no way they get back to before Fergie. EPL has a lot more money now, City and Liverpool will both be contending for the foreseeable future, United’s best hope is to get on their level
Agree that level of dominance for so many years wont happen again. They're lucky they have infinite money, its why they are able to afford one failure after another. Eventually they'll get it right and Utd will be a power house. City's money with Liverpool's history combined to one.

City's and Liverpool's winning cycle won't last forever though. Madrid were a joke in the CL for almost a decade until they decided to splash the cash on the best players in the world and the best coach in the world(at the time).

Sadly, United still have the means to do that and it won't change anytime soon. But yeah, in the immediate future, I don't see them challenging City or Pool for the title or even getting close to them for that matter.

Agreed but my point is they’ll never be back to Fergie days. They’ll win titles again but they won’t dominate the way they used to. Too many top teams in the EPL now and the game has changed.
