I think this is quite embarrassing for the players actually. It clearly shows that the problem wasn't the quality of the team or the tactics, they simply just didn't bother giving it their all.

maybe that or maybe the new coach is capable of motivating them. Either way even if the players are to blame - the board is not

Yep agreed it seems the board needed to take this decision, players just weren't playing for Ranieri anymore. It's just somewhat sad that the manager is always the fallout guy. I'm sure footballers are even stupid enough to believe it was never their fault.

He lost a lot of support early into the season. Even the assistant coach stopped showing up at his side after the team started looking clueless.
