If Mourinho can't coach that team into CL places, he's turned into a bloody awful coach.
:agree:

With Zlatan it should be a walk in the park, and Mourinho will be sacked if he can't seucre them CL football.

That said peeps [in general] needs to stop concluding so much based on so little. We are 5(4 for United) matches into a 38 matches long PL-season.

I think United has net spent something like 500M on transfers in the last 5 seasons. Missing CL again would be a disaster considering the spending spree they went on again this summer, and adding to that a free Zlatan.

I highly doubt it happens though. Far too much talent in that squad for finishing below 4th. Zlatan alone should guarantee it, even if Pogba and Bailly were to flop.

Now we are on the subject of Chelsea, they must be a tad bit annoyed, they've got Andreas Christensen running around in Gladbach instead of London.

Indeed. United have lost to City and Feyenoord. Two teams doing "fairly well" currently. They'll be competing with Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton and Liverpool for the 2-4 spots (Aight, I think City will win PL).

Everton will lose of their momentum later in the season, Liverpool is hit/miss type of team, Arsenal will get 4th, Spurs seem too inconsistent and Chelsea/Conte marriage needs work.

Yep, United will get CL-football.

Aside from Terry, who's in severe decay, yeah, they are.

Great individuals, disgustingly retarded in working as a unit or applying tactical guidelines. Thats basically the entire EPL in a nutshell for you.

Individually, in an EPL team, sure.

In a tactical game, like every long term epl player, absolutely not.

Its why EPL is such a nightmare for football. greatly skilled individuals getting a tactical lobotomy.

It will take conte quite a while to fix that. And even then, he'll make mistakes more often then a serie a defender would despite beeing not remotely as skilled.
I think you're exaggerating way too much. First of all most of those players were brought up outside the EPL and came to the EPL mostly either as established talents who have already received the bulk of their football education or established players in general. So this tactical naivety you talk about that is characteristic of the EPL can't be because of their football upbringing. Secondly, they now have and had managers that you consider tactically astute such as Mourinho and Conte ( and for some of them Ancelotti as well), so it can't be because of the coach either.

So how come those players in particular are tactically naive, and if they are how is the EPL responsible for that?

He's woeful defensively. Will be dropped once Marcos Alonso gets up to speed.
He's out of form. He was horrible last year but so were most Chelsea players. Before that he was consistently for many years a very good rightback, especially defensively.

He used to be good but I think he's done at least as a right back maybe he could do the job as a CB if Conte moves to three at the back.

So Watford tactics this game. Double-triple team against Zlatan, high pressure, direct play, pile players in the middle of the field.

Should be quite easy for United to open the Watford defense with wingers/backs and deep runs behind the backline to elongate the field.
