True, 3 man defense was unheard of, iirc Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers were the only few who tried it and look where that got them. I remember how they all laughed at it when he was using it with us. He's brought a new philosophy to EPL and deserves credit for it.

That's not the point. The point is how they know absolutely nothing, unless it happens in the PL. Remember last year, when they discovered Pirlo after the England game?
Oops, when you said here, I thought you meant Tuz.
Yeah, the media sucks. Most of the pundits on TV spent half the time talking about Barca's board after Dani Alves' performance against Monaco.

I remember the long hoof days, past 5 years or so they've discovered technical players and "understand" what that means. They are truly ignorant and arrogant but when someone shines in their own league like its a litmus test, only then they take notice. Modric must have been one of the first midfielders who really shone technically. Players like veron couldn't fit because they didn't know how to use him. Their ignorance you can pity and mock but their arrogance is truly irritating, makes you wanna punch them in the face.

What? The Prem is the least technical I've ever seen it. Most of the teams play a garbage brand of football, played at 100 miles an hour to make the braindead punters think what they are watching is world-class. The top PL teams in the mid to late 00s were better, especially technically.

As I said modric, stands out and he started at spurs In 2008, another one is xabi Alonso in 2004.

There are a few if not handful of players still playing, so I wouldn't say that it's over just yet. Players like Erickson and De Bruyne come to mind.
