Yes, your football knowledge is quite incredible. Ibra really is the only thing we have. Out of 23 goals scored in the qualifying group, what do you think his share was? 5? 7? 10? That's right. He scored 0 goals.

As for your second statement just swallow already, you sore loser.
We have gone through the group stages of the last three major tournaments - World Cup 2002, Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006. How many European teams have managed that? England? I can't think of anyone else.
Take it easy man, i m not saying that Ibra is the only thing Sweeden has, but i know he has many admirers here, that would be hurry to point that out!
And truth is he is one of the most effective players of the entire group and a player that can make the difference. I like Sweeden and i respect the team and the Sweeds, i had no intention to make it look like a personal attack.:spliff:
Being the devil's advocate, i would add, Sweeden marked all these goal against whom?
Cause i dont have a clue about football remind how many scandinavian teams were in the qualifier group??

What do u mean the second statement, i m happy with that fair "draw", i gained good money from it:D

PS just noticed the new smillies, i love them:malt: :bigscarf:

You clearly haven't followed our games because if you had you'd know that Zlatan hasn't scored for the national team in almost two years!

There were two Scandinavian teams in our qualifier, Denmark and Iceland.

Two Scandinavian and the neighbouring Latvia would mean half of the group...

Who said i did followed Sweden's qualifiers? ( i just follow general news and highlights, not that i dont care, but i dont have the necessary time anymore)
I can follow all the european teams and i never said Zlatan qualified Sweden all by himself, but i do respect him and i ve already stated the reasons i ve mentioned him...
Are you saying that he wont be able to help Sweden in euro or that they dont need him???

Ok first of all its's Sweden* and Swedes*, and second sorry if I was a bit too offensive.

:juvefan2:

All i am saying is, its gonna be tougher for everyone now.

One could make a parallel between the way Northern Ireland defeated Spain, Sweden and Denmark and how the Greeks won the Euros.

Can you really? In my opinion Norn Iron's key to success was their passion and pride to play for their country along with an absolutely amazing homecrowd that pushed the players to their limits, whereas Greece relied solely on defensive organisation and set pieces.

I would say the Greeks' passion and pride played quite a huge part in their campaign. Defensive organisation needs quite a lot of discipline and more importantly, determination from the team.

Sure, that was a factor for Greece aswell, but I do not feel the Norn Iron bored their opponents to death the way Greece did. They won 3-2, 2-1, 2-1 as opposed to Greece's 1-0 all the way through. I think Northern Ireland played their rush more than anything.

Larsson returns for Sweden again

Henrik Larsson has been included in Sweden's Euro 2008 squad - his third comeback in international football.

Helsingborg's former Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United striker, 36, is a surprise choice after retiring from his national team in 2002 and then in 2006.

"When I last retired, I didn't think I'd be playing this long and that it would go this well," he said after coach Lars Lagerback named his squad.

"It will be tough to make the first team but I'll do my best."

Larsson, who announced his last international retirement during the 2006 World Cup, has not played in the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign but has shown impressive form in the Swedish league this season, notching six goals in 11 appearances for Helsingborg.

"We've been playing well in Helsingborg, playing in the UEFA Cup in the autumn and also playing good football in the Swedish league," he added.

"We've been playing football that has given me a taste for more... football is so much fun. It's a joy."

Larsson has said that he wants to carry on playing for Sweden even after Euro 2008, which takes place from 7-29 June in Austria and Switzerland.

He is one of five strikers in the squad, with Inter Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Toulouse's Johan Elmander, Copenhagen veteran Marcus Allback and Werder Bremen's Markus Rosenberg also included.

Sweden's Group D opponents are Spain, Greece and Russia.

After the 2002 World Cup, Larsson announced his retirement only to return the following year for what was billed as a one-off appearance during the Euro 2004 qualifying campaign.

Yet he was named in the squad for the tournament in Portugal and emerged as Sweden's top scorer.

Preliminary Sweden squad for Euro 2008: Isaksson (Man City), Shaaban (Hammarby), Wiland (Elfsborg); Nilsson (Panathinaikos), Mellberg (Aston Villa), Hansson (Rennes), Stoor (Rosenborg), Alexandersson (IFK Gothenburg), Majstorovic (Basle), Dorsin (CFR Cluj); Linderoth (Galatasaray), Ljungberg (West Ham), Svensson (Elfsborg), Granqvist (Helsingborg), Kallstrom (Lyon), S Larsson (Birmingham), Andersson (Malmo), Wilhelmsson (Deportivo de la Coruna); Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan), Elmander (Toulouse), H Larsson (Helsingborg), Allback (FC Copenhagen), Rosenberg (Werder Bremen). Reserve: Bakircioglu (Ajax).

Spain's official call ups.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Pepe Reina (Liverpool), Andres Palop (Sevilla).

Defenders: Raul Albiol (Valencia), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Juanito Gutierrez (Real Betis), Fernando Navarro (Mallorca), Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool).

Midfielders: Xavi Hernandez (FC Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), David Silva (Valencia), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Ruben De La Red (Getafe), Marcos Senna (Villarreal), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal).

Forwards: Fernando Torres (Liverpool), David Villa (Valencia), Daniel Guiza (Mallorca), Sergio Garcia (Zaragoza)

I'm pretty satisfied with these call ups. I was hoping Albelda would get a call up at least Xabi and Albiol got called up :)
