Good points, i would also like to notice that Italy, despite having the material,
atm, lacks the brains. Both on the field (Totti) and of the field (this Donadoni some ppl call a "coach").
I m not sure if Pirlo can fix that all by himself, Italy needs a leader, someone who will organize the team from the inside or a good tactician.
Otherwise this current team will suffer a lack of character and lose all consistency,
that would result to a struggling against serious opposition...
The world champions, certainly have, the potential to conquer Europe, but they have to prove that from the very start...

Did you just refer to Francesco Totti as a person with brains? :dielaugh:

Just like i said, ON the field. Usually the playmakers are, the team's brain,
many football players although they are idiots in real life, are brilliant on the pitch
and lead their team by instinct or a natural gift, that even themselves fail to conceive completely...they cant explain it,they just feel it and react!
Their tactical skills are not that good, but their tactical value, on the field is immense!
I m sure that Totti wont make a good coach, just like Hagi didnt!
But thats another discussion, i think you missed my point there, are you still mad on me?:frown:

My point was Italy lacks her traditional playmaker and also lacks the traditional high skilled tactician...

Hrhr, yes I understand what you meant and no I'm not mad. :pumpkin:
I was just taking a cheap shot at Francesca. In fact, I do not know anything about his supposed stupidity.

If Taddei kept his form, I would definitely be with him being on the Azzurri. He has really been on his game lately.
I must add I just don't like people coming to the Azzurri after they do not receive call-ups from their other NT. We are the World Champions and we shouldn't have take seconds of any team. I know Camo is a perfect example of it. I just don't like our NT giving away positions to non Italians.

Osvaldo has been called up to the U-21 team too.But you cant really do anything to stop this.Drawing a line between 'foreigners' who play for a country is hard..If a person has a country's nationality, then he is eligible to play for that very country, and players will continue playing for countries other than their country of birth to have exposure at the highest level.I think its wrong too,but it cant really be stopped.

Holland starting formation:

Van Der Sar (Man. Utd key player - UEFA Team Of Year nominee)
Bouma (Current Aston Villa player)
Boulahrouz (Current Sevilla CF player - On loan from Chelsea FC)
Mathijsen (Current HSV player)
Van Bronckhorst (Former Barca + Arsenal player)
Robben (World's best winger coming back from injury)
Sneijder (Real Madrid starlet UEFA Team Of Year nominee)
Van Der Vaart (HSV key player - captain UEFA Team Of Year nominee)
Seedorf (AC Milan key player, won 3 CL with 3 clubs in which he all played integral parts Ajax, Real Madrid, AC Milan)
Van Persie (Arsenal key player)
Van Nistelrooy (UEFA Team Of Year nominee - La Liga Topscorer)

And on the bench:

Stekelenburg (Ajax key player - Rumored of replacing Robinson at Tottenham)
Heitinga (Ajax key player - Trailed by Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, even Juve briefly at some point)
Van Bommel (Key player of Bayern Munich, the Dutch Gattuso, he's merciless)
Afellay (Dutch equivalent of Nasri/Ben Arfa. Voted player of the season)
De Guzman (Trailed by Chelsea. One of the greatest talents in Netherlands)
Kuyt (Hard working, good assist provider)
Babel (Great talent, has glimpses of Henry brilliance)
Koevermans (Last season runner-up Dutch topscorer in Dutch league. Current clubtopscorer at PSV)
Vennegoor of Hesselink (Key player of Celtic)
Huntelaar (Deadly striker - Dutch topscorer Dutch League)

I would be shitting bricks if i was Italy or France, and i laugh at people claiming that fucking Romania is better than Holland. Their best player is Mutu who is a rotation player at Fiorentina. Holland have 5 UEFA Team Of The Year players. _O-

Holland always have a top side on paper, but they never make the most of it.

When did they last beat a major nation in a major tournament?

that defence doesn't look too great. but they have a lot of attacking options, something italy could do with. i don't care if amauri doesn't know a line of the national anthem, bring him to the azzurri.

Looking at that defence, I would be laughing my ass off. Youre making it sound like being a current Villa player is a good thing.

The same can be done for Romania players and say they can be compared to this and they play for that, dont mean much.

I must say I will be very impressed if Holland did qualify from this group

Their defense is their Achilles' heel yet their attack and midfield are deadly and considering it I hope they'd make it for the next round.
