Serg, if I were to ever get a larger size PS3, and I probably never would, could one transfer everything to it?

Yes you can.

what you ned to do on your PS3 is to create a backup file. Now, that will only back up your system settings, your password, account, saved game files and what not.

In order for you to access what you have already downloaded as far as games are concerned, you would go to account management, then download history, adn re-download everything that you had pruchased.

That is what I had to do when I swapped out my 60gb hard drive for a 250 GB drive.

Its really pretty simple

my friends and i all use our PS3s as a media hub. so 80GB isn't enough so i have a 320GB ext HD connected which works great on with my PS3 and completes the link on my network.

Now that is just for movies and music, correct??

Because the external HDD that I purchased (160GB) just has music on it.

I can't save downloaded games or demos on it because of the copyright protection.

Although you can share your game downloads on up to 5 other acccounts.

Strange.

you can replace the hardrive on the PS3 with a bigger one if you run out of space.

Or like Dru you can use an external hard drive.

another thing you can do is enable file sharing on your lap top/PC wifi and use the PS3 wifi to play your movies/songs/pics on your PS3 and hi def screen :)

I use TVersity as my media hub device on my PC.

the PS3 reads it right off of my computer, and it streams my stuff like a charm.

The problem with the PS3 is that there are certain movie files (.mkv) which the system can't read as of yet

Also need a new headset too. Damn SOCOM ruined it (or rather my anger did).

For 39.99 get the Eye camera. Not only is it a video camera (Obviously), but there is a built in hi-def microphone installed as well.

The camera might be a necessity in 6-8 months anyway, as Sony is going to be introducing their motion controllers which uses the Eye camera as the means to detect the controllers. Its supposed to be extremely accurate, even moer so than the Wii Motion Plus controllers, plus it will have facial and voice recognition

look around and see if you can find some of the older 80 GB ones left since they are a bit cheaper. usually they are bundeled with decent/good games because the stores want to get rid of them. Even if you don't like the games, you can always sell/trade them in for other games.
They are very hard to come by. They started clearing those off of the shelves around 2 months ago.

For the price, you're better off getting the 120GB Slim

and we're pretty much in the same time zone I believe (move countries Osman) so it will be easy to play games together

MAG needs to be good though. For now it's all about Modern Warfare 2. I got my pre order today. will get Uncharted 2 and either Demon's soul or Borderlands soon.

MAG is very good. I've been in the beta for about a month now.

and Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls are just phoenomenal. Just make sure you have an extra controller lying around for Demon's Souls. You're guarantedd to break one in frustration.

Happened to me already

Something tells me Dru will be a friendly kill uber God :p

And Lion, yeah, y'll seem to be yanks/NA's, but depending on your time zones, it shouldnt matter too much, I'm pretty much a night owl, hehe.

And yeah cant wait for Modern warfare 2. MAG has real potential, but its not guranteed awesomeness like COD6 is.

They've started to expand the allotted play times for MAG as the beta continues. They've been doing stress tests on their servers in increments. Its good stuff, man, it really really is. You get the sense that you are in a real war, not just fighting some deathmatch or capture the flag game

Thats cool, I'm not hating, just saying that Modern warfare 2 is guranteed greatness (because the first one was pure awesome), while MAG has lots of ridicolous potential, but has still to be seen how high its ceiling is.

heh hard games I like. I don't mind Hard games, what I hate is cheap kills games where the enemy can kill you with a cheap shot.

The only thing I hate about these next few months of gaming is that it's going to destroy my budget (and time)

Borderlands
Uncharted 2
Demon's soul
Modern Warfare 2
Assassin's Creed 2
Mass Effect 2
Bioshock 2
MAG
God Of War 3/ Collection
Ratchet and Clank future 2
Heavy Rain

not to mention older games like Prototype, Valkyria Chronicles, Street Fighter 4, Killzone 2, Riddick, and Folklore which I have yet to get.
