Renewing Gatti was an odd move when his contract wasn't near expiry, especially to 3.1m. It is expensive for what he brings and limits the option to sell him.

It reminds me of the renewal we did for Tek for no reason which in the end pushed us to negotiate his exit.

But is this already agreed under Giuntoli ? I remember there is lots of news for his extension since last season.

With his contract raise, his salary only have small difference with Leao (Milan) who just got renewed last season : €6.4M gross. While Gatti €5.74m Gross + €740k Bonus which basically the same. He will be fourth biggest earner if he is at Milan. This is quite strange decision if Gatti ended as back up for Kalulu

It stroke my attention too. He must have received an offer from the outside and we decided to match it.
