Hey guys. I think this is a great idea and I'd be glad to contribute to it.

These are just a few members that I think should be included in the rating panel:

Andy, Jeeks, Juve_Kosova and Zlatan for sure. Isha and Tom usually tell it like it is so if they are available then that'd be good. I haven't seen Baggio or Holdon around much recently so the verdict is still out on them. Vinman, Azzurri7, Seven, Espectro, Cronios and Dominic could do the job as well. ZhiXin and Rami are also capable.

Apart from the list of raters the rating system must also be thoroughly discussed and decided on. Will we be working with whole numbers only a la Skysports or .5s like the Italian newspapers? What exactly is a good rating and what is a poor one, decent one, excellent one, etc? Some may not understand what I mean by that but Italian newspapers tend to rate quite harshly and 6.5 is regarded as good whereas in England 6.5 is an average performance. The MoM is usually given between 7 and 8 in Italy while it is not uncommon to see a player get a 9 in England. Perhaps we can have a basic format with general comments that relate to a rating and then we can match the players' performances to the rating by means of the comments. This is what I mean:

    4- Very poor, dismal performance.
5- Disappointing, definitely wasn't his day.
6- Average, not too bad but not great either.
7- Good, played a solid game.
8- Difference making, a very impressive showing.
9- Awesome, did very little wrong and a great deal of good. MOTM calibre.
10- Out of this world, an unbelieveable performance.

By having a base we can easily weigh up the players' contributions and performances and match them to a rating. What do you guys think?

I'm flattered to be in the list, however I don't think I have the time to be able to do such a job. It's a shame but I think I would be out of the list.

I am objective when it comes to reports or rating,I don't overreact like other members here.I prefer Zlatan play instead of Del piero, that made others think I am Zlatanist, that's another thing.but members like Seven and Andy, keep overrating del piero and underating Zlatan.I am not like that.
If you really want an objective reporter?try Domenic
Snoop, I have no reason to underrate or overrate anybody. Last year when Zlatan was playing well I gave him credit when people failed to do so and looked at Del Piero objectively. Now this season for some matches the roles have reversed...I have no reason to not be objective as possible because I like both players and want what's best for the team.

I was thinking the same, Stu. We need to have some basic regulation as to what rating is just so that people are on the same page. This is something we will discuss in detail after we decide who will actually partake in this project. Good stuff man.

I guess I got a bit carried away but whether I'm in or not the rating system still has to be discussed so I thought I'd bring up the issue. You're right though, the priority right now has to be deciding on a suitable list.

Thanks. BTW, how many Juve games are you able to see? You should at the very least be considered IMO.

I think Denco and Paul are a must !!!

I hope they dont decline, because I always look forward to Denco's analysis, and I also miss having Paul comment after games. He hasnt posted in a match thread in ages.

Can't really blame him though for not posting in such threads.

I think it should be quite a few people, about 15, so as to obtain varied, opinionated results. Also, by having a fairly large group the project won't be affected that much if for whatever reason persons are unable to view a particular match.

IMO those who have the ability to watch the game should write a report after the game. Ppl like Jeeks, Greg, Holdon, Elisa (ur a must!) Dominic and even Stuart have coverage on the games, so they can make a straight report after the game without having for the others to wait for a long time to read the report by our members. Unfortunately for me, everytime a game is finished it is always in the wee hours of the morning, and a report will come out very late due to sleep.

I will definitely welcome Denco to post his report becos most of his points hit the nail on the head.
