    Guglielmo Stendardo

    Team: SS Lazio
    Position: Centre Defender
    Number: 2
    Nationality: Italian
Date of birth: 6 May 1981
    Place of birth: Naples, Italy
    Height: 190 cm
    Weight: 89 kg

Biography: Tall defender Stendardo was born in Naples, Italy on the 6th May 1981. The tough tackling defender has great aerial presence and has incredible power. He began his career with Napoli in 1997 but was only able to make one appearance for the first team due to restricted first team opportunities. He joined Sampdoria in January 1999 in order to try and gain some first team experience. The move was a success and he managed to appear in 32 league games. Stendardo was still not a first team regular as he may have hoped and as a result opted to move clubs. Therefore, in 2002 he signed for Salernitana just before the 2002-2003 season started, his move seemed like a good one as he began the season as a first team starter but he soon fell out of favour and he only managed to play in 17 league games. Stendardo needed to move again in order to play first team football and was thrilled when Serie B side offered him the chance of reviving his career with them. He made 42 appearances and gained many admirers from his good form, therefore Serie A side snapped him up the following season and he continued to flourish making 39 league appearances and using his aerial ability to score 3 times. His consistent performances were enough for Rome giants Lazio to make an offer and he signed for the Rome outfit in 2005.

Why do I want Stendardo at Juventus?
If anyone counts the required skills that should be present in a world-class defender, you'll find most of these skills in Stendardo. He is tall, strong, brilliant in air and quick compared to his bodyweight, besides, his age is optimum.

    -Name: David Villa

    -Date of Birth: 3-Dec-1981
    -Birthplace: Langreo, Asturias, Spain
    -Height \ Weight: 1.75m \ 69kg
    -Position: Forward
    -Number: 7
    -Club: Valencia CF
    -Nationality: Spain
    -Childhood hero: Luis Enrique

    International career

Villa made his national debut on the 9Th of February 2005 in Almeria, it was a match between Spain and San Marino where Spain won 5-0.

Villa was included in Spain's 23 man squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, and was favored over the more established striker Raúl, to line up alongside Fernando Torres in the opening match against Ukraine. Villa made his first World Cup finals appearance scoring twice against Ukraine. He added one more from the penalty spot in Spain's 1-3 defeat to France in a Round of 16 knock-out match. He finished joint top goal scorer for Spain along with Fernando Torres in World Cup 2006 with 3 goals.
Recently, on March 23, 2007, Villa scored in a 2-1 win over Denmark.

    Valencia

Valencia parted with over £8 million to secure his services in the summer of 2005.
In the 2005-06 season, he scored 25 goals in 35 league matches for Valencia, to finish one goal behind the leagues top scorer Samuel Eto'o of Barcelona. He scored his first hat-trick for Valencia against Athletic Bilbao on the 23rd April 2006.

It is currently rumored that English FA Premier League team Chelsea F.C. are interested in purchasing David Villa from Valencia CF, though officially there has been no contact from, or offer by Chelsea FC. Valencia have warned any interested clubs that they will only let Villa go if his £100 million buy out clause is met. Valencia president, Juan Soler, however, has told the press they have no intention of selling Villa; but if any club were interested they could sit down and negotiate a price. There was reportedly a failed £15 million transfer bid by Chelsea in the summer of the 2005-06 season. If Chelsea were to sign Villa for the current asking price it would make it the most expensive transfer fee in the world.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would love Juve to sign him but I realize it is unlikely. Valencia will not want to part with him and we could never out-bid Chelsea, but I'm not sure Chelsea will go for him. Look at there last two major signings, Ballack and Sheva. They were both flops and I think if they paid huge money for Villa he would be under to much pressure (especially from the English media) and if he didn't play brilliantly straight away Jose Mourinho would be criticized aswell, and I don't think he can take much more criticism before he gets sacked.
So if Chelsea don't go for him, then maybe we will be able to buy him. I can always dream.

    Name: Rafael Van der Vaart
    Team: Hamburger SV (Germany)
    Position:Central midfielder
    Number: 23
Date of birth: 11th February, 1983. (age 24)
    Nationality: Dutch
    Height: 174cm
    Weight: 70kg

Rafael Ferdinand van der Vaart is a Dutch footballer who captains Bundesliga side Hamburger SV and plays for the Dutch national team. Van der Vaart was born to a Spanish mother and a Dutch father in Heemskerk, in North Holland. He has scored 8 goals in 41 caps for the national team.

His previous clubs were Ajax and De Kennemers in his hometown of Heemskerk. Van der Vaart played for the Netherlands in Euro 2004 and in the 2006 World Cup. He married Sylvie Meis, on June 10, 2005, and their first child, Damián Rafael, was born May 27, 2006.

    Career

    Ajax Amsterdam
At the age of ten, Rafael van der Vaart was enrolled in a youth trial in Amsterdam for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam. His talent was quickly noticed and he eventually joined AFC Ajax on a trial basis. It was soon decided that young Rafael was allowed to continue to stay at the club.

At age seventeen, Rafael van der Vaart made his debut for AFC Ajax in a 1-1 draw with FC Den Bosch in the 1999/2000 season. Van der Vaart played exceptionally well in that match which made a foreshadowing of many great football from him to come. However, that was his only match for the rest of the season.

In the 2000/2001 season, Van der Vaart saw a vast amount of game time compared to his first season at AFC Ajax. It was expected that Rafael van der Vaart would make appearances here and then as a substitute, but then Ajax coach Co Adriaanse opted to play Van der Vaart more and more, giving the Dutchman a good spell of game time at Ajax. Van der Vaart's keen eye for attack was noticed and he was put into the central attacking midfielder position. Oftentimes though, he was seen playing on the left flank. That year, he went on to be elected as talent of the year from the Ajax supporters who saw much potential in young Van der Vaart.

2001/2002 brought more prestigious times for Van der Vaart. He was given the number 23 shirt as a sign of his further growing involvement with AFC Ajax. However, in that season, Van der Vaart suffered a serious knee injury which would require operation. He was diagnosed with having a rip in his knee meniscus. The operation went through and Van der Vaart returned to football, however, the injury plagued the young player even more and on April 2, 2002, Van der Vaart sustained a more serious injury in the same area and required a more important operation, removing his entire meniscus. This injury prevented Van der Vaart from taking part for the rest of the season.

Van der Vaart came back strong in his second full season at Ajax. In the 2002/2003 season, Van der Vaart had recovered from his injuries and during the Amsterdam Tournament, he scored two goals in Ajax's magnificent 4-3 victory over FC Barcelona. Ajax went on to win the tournament and Rafael van der Vaart was voted the best player of the tournament.

    Hamburger SV
Van der Vaart moved to Bundesliga club Hamburg SV on July 1, 2005, where he is positioned as playmaker. He was appointed team captain in the 2006/07 season.

    International career
Rafael van der Vaart made his international debut against Andorra on the October 6 2001.

2002-2003: Amsterdam Tournament, Johan Cruijff Schaal
2001-2002: National Championship, Amstel Cup, Amsterdam Tournament

    My opinion
VDV is a great player with age on his side as he is getting near the top of his career and he is not young and unexperienced anymore.

I spotted him a long time ago when he was forming a golden trident at Ajax together with Ibra and Van der Meyde and I always rated him as the best and most talented. He has very good technique, passing and could provide us with some creativity. He also has a fine shot. Not very strong, but a precise one. He proved himself already in the tough league as Bundesliga is and he is a key player for one of the best Bundesliga teams last season. He is a also a captain of their team which tells you alot about him, meaning that he is adapting to new teams quickly. Furthermore, he is regular in Dutch national team.

The only disadvantage is that he is very often injured and Serie A is tougher than Bundesliga.

Also, it may be tough to get him as his price definitely is not low, but without some risks we won´t get any profit.

    Name: Wesley Sneijder
Team: AFC Ajax (Holland)---> Real Madrid
    Position: Midfielder

    Birth Date: June 9-1984
    Nationality: Dutch
    Height: 1.70

    2004-05 Ajax NED A 30 7
    2003-04 Ajax NED A 30 9
    2002-03 Ajax NED A 17 4

Although Sneijder came through the Ajax youth academy, he is not a native of Amsterdam. He was born in Utrecht, the same city Jan Wouters and Marco van Basten come from. He hails from a football family: his father was a talented player and his older brother Jeffrey plays for Stormvogels Telstar. There's also a younger Sneijder brother who is likely to turn professional. These fraternal rivalries might have fuelled Sneijder's competitive spirit - a tenacity which has seen journalists christen him the 'pitbull with patience'.

Sneijder made his debut for Ajax in a 2-0 win at SC Excelsior on 22 December 2002 when trainer Ronald Koeman, troubled by an injury-filled squad called him up, advised by Danny Blind, the then-coach of the Ajax youth-squad. He rapidly established himself in the role of midfield general. Despite his slight stature, he is strong on the ball and his passing range is enhanced by his two-footedness.

He's been a regular in the Dutch international squad since Marco van Basten took over as coach.

    National Championship: 2004
    KNVB Cup: 2006

my opinion:He and Huntelaar would be big impact in Serie A and crushing opponents wouldn't be difficult.Tsubasa-Misaki style:)

mark77 adds, he's a versatile player and can play anywhere in the midfield. Juve need his long shots from the midfield and some goals from the midfielders. Some players we already have are not getting any younger so Sneijder would be a nice signing that could learn from them.

    Profile:
Philippe Mexès (born March 30, 1982 in Toulouse, France) is a French professional football (soccer) player, who currently plays as a centreback for Italian club A.S. Roma.

Philippe Mexès began his career with local club Toulouse FC, with his older sister regularly taking him to the training sessions. However, he left for AJ Auxerre's youth team when he was sixteen years old. He successfully participated in the Under-18 and Under-21 French national football teams, eventually winning a spot in the senior squad in August 2002. Since 2002 he has only been called up a few times, after he failed to make the French squad for the 2004 European Football Championship. He was recently called up for France's friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina in August 2006.

Mexès is currently one of the backbones of the A.S. Roma team coached by Luciano Spalletti. After a difficult first season with the capitoline club, Mexès began the 2005-06 campaign on the bench, leaving the central defender spot to Sammy Kuffour. However, as Kuffour was on national team duty for Ghana, Mexès slowly gained playing time. He quickly became a key player in the record-breaking Roma campaign and he was widely considered one of the best defenders of the competition. His performances as a defender have seen him likened to Laurent Blanc, another French footballer.

Franck "Bilal" Ribéry (born April 7, 1983, in Boulogne-Sur-Mer) is a French football player who currently plays for Olympique Marseille either as an attacking midfielder or a left- or right-sided winger, and recently has been touted by the media as the successor to Zinédine Zidane as the star of the French national team, due to his increasingly impressive performances.

He signed a contract with Turkish club Galatasaray in January 2005, and went on to help them win the 2005 Turkish Cup by scoring a key goal in a 1-0 victory in the semi-final and scoring a goal and assisting another in a 5-1 win in the final against rivals Fenerbahçe. The Galatasaray fans were impressed with the young Frenchman's skills, and quickly gave him the nickname, "FerraRibery". But in June of that year, he abruptly left the Istanbul club and joined Olympique de Marseille, the sixth club of his career. The move was a controversial one, especially in Turkey: Galatasaray claimed Ribéry's contract was still good and that all back wages had been paid to Ribéry, but Ribéry claimed the contract was void because, he claimed, that the club's management owed him back wages. The case is under FIFA arbitration as of June 2006. The move to Marseille has since earned him top French player honours for the months of August, October and November 2005.

On June 12, 2006, he was named in the starting lineup of the French team for their opener in the 2006 FIFA World Cup against Switzerland. His first international goal proved to be a crucial one, levelling France at 1-1 with Spain in the 41st minute of their knockout round match after calmly rounding the Spanish keeper, Íker Casillas. Though Spain were the favourites, France went on to win that game 3-1 to book a quarter-final slot against Brazil.

Upon facing Brazil on July 1, 2006, Ribéry was substituted in the 75th minute of the 1-0 victory following an impressive performance. He also played in the World Cup final defeat to Italy where he went close with a low shot in the first half of extra-time.

    Honours:
    • Winner of Turkish Football Cup in 2005 playing for Galatasaray.
    • Winner of UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2005 playing for Olympique Marseille.
    • Runner-up of Coupe de France in 2006 playing for Marseille.
    • Runner-up of the FIFA World Cup 2006 (July 9, 2006)

    Transfer speculations:

After a much-praised performance throughout the World Cup, Ribéry was linked with a move to several top clubs. However, he stated in July 2006 that he plans on seeing out the next four years at Marseille.[3] In a confusing turn of events, shortly after making this statement, Ribéry claimed during an interview for French top channel TF1 that he had changed his mind and will eventually quit Olympique de Marseille. Marseille's president has since specifically denied that any offer for Ribéry has been made to Marseille by any club whatsoever. In particular, Ribéry has been strongly linked to Arsenal and Real Madrid, with rumours circulating in October 2006 that Marseille have already reached an agreement with the English club for the player. This has been denied by the Marseille sporting director, who however, for the first time confirmed there was interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid for Ribéry, but said that L'OM would not sell their best players because the management intended "to claim a place in the Champions League". During the January transfer window, he has been linked with a move to FC Bayern Munich, where he could star alongside fellow French national team player Willy Sagnol.

Many believe Ribéry will leave Marseille this coming summer. Real Madrid, Premiership duo Arsenal and Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are all after his lucrative signature. Also, Rumours have been linking Ribéry heavily to the Italian giants; Juventus, it is no secret that Monsieur Deschamps is a big admirer of the French talent.

    Videos:

Things you don't know about Ribéry:

Ribéry is a Muslim, having converted to Islam around the time he married his Muslim fiancée Wahiba Belhami who is of Algerian descent (originally from Nedroma, Tlemcen). Ribéry has adopted the Arabic name Bilal. They have one daughter together, Hizya, who was born on July 18, 2005.

Why I want Ribéry to join us:

Ribéry is one of the quickest football dribblers I've ever seen, his ball control is amazing, versatile, consistent and he is still young, this means that he can shine more in the near future. He is always motivated and this is pretty clear in every match he plays. Moreover, he won't cost us more than £14m, a transfer fee which is nothing compared to the efforts that he can do.

Royston Drenthe (born April 8, 1987) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Feyenoord Rotterdam. Drenthe mainly plays as a left back, but he is also suitable for the left winger or left forward positions.

    Feyenoord youth career
At Feyenoord he came into the D2 team, where Tim Vincken and Gianni Zuiverloon were part of as well. Drenthe played mainly as a left winger during his junior years. As a C player he was invited to join the B squad on a trip to Switzerland. Drenthe misbehaved during the trip and the trainer, Marcel Bout, wanted him to leave the club as a result. Thanks to technical director Rob Baan Drenthe was able to stay and he was only temporarily suspended by the club. After his suspension he continued to play in the C-team before moving to the B-team, where he again faced Marcel Bout as his coach.

Bout hardly used Drenthe in his line-up. Later, at the end of the season he was named as one of eleven players whose future at the club were questionable. Drenthe then decided to switch teams and moved to Feyenoord's feeder club Excelsior Rotterdam.

Drenthe improved during the two years he played at Excelsior. Coach Marco van Lochem wanted to try him as a left back, which turned out to be a success. Drenthe seemed to be a talent at this position and became a team regular. He impressed the Feyenoord coaches and was asked to join them again.

    Feyenoord first team
In the 2005/06 season he reached the A1 team of Feyenoord, managed by his former C-youth coach Henk Fräser. Fräser told him he had to fight for his position with his team mate Mohammed Hammouti. Since the Otten Cup, a youth tournament at PSV Eindhoven where he scored three goals against Ajax Amsterdam as a left winger, he became a first-team player and even became captain of the team. In the meantime he also became a team regular in Feyenoord's second team.

Drenthe was offered a professional contract soon after. That same week he won an away match versus Ajax' second team 1-5 and was asked to train with Feyenoord's first team for the first time in his life. He continued to play for Feyenoord's youth and second team before manager Erwin Koeman brought him in his regular squad. He made his debut in the match against Vitesse in the Gelredome and finished the season with a total of three professional matched played.

In the 2006-07 season Feyenoord signed Belgian international player Philippe Léonard at Drenthe's position, while Pascal Bosschaart was also still part of the squad. Due to the injury of Léonard and the switch of Bosschaart to play for ADO Den Haag Drenthe was awarded a chance, which he grabbed immediately. In a short time Drenthe became a fans' favourite player, being one of the few positive highlights in a disappointing season for the club.

    Netherlands under-21
In 2007 Drenthe was called up by Jong Oranje coach Foppe de Haan to be part of his squad for the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship held in the Netherlands. Drenthe was one of the most important players in the Dutch wins in their group matches, which resulted in a semi final spot and an automatic qualification for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Against Israel Drenthe brought the only goalscorer Hedwiges Maduro in position to score his goal. The UEFA choose Drenthe as the man of the match for this game. He was also praised after their second group match versus Portugal where he had another assist, this time to help Maceo Rigters score the second Dutch goal which secured them a 2-1 win. In the final group match against Belgium (2-2 draw) Drenthe set the Dutch 2-1 in front from a free kick.

He is unusual for his position as he makes many runs up field to help the midfield or even the attack. He is also very vesatile being able to play anywhere in defence and also being able to play midfield.

    Club career

Ivanović began his career in his home town in FC SREM Sremska Mitrovica, before transferring to OFK Beograd in 2003. After three years playing in first division Serbia and Montenegro football league, he was signed by FC Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006.

He took part in the 2006 U-21 Championships in Portugal, where he made four appearances and scored one goal for Serbia and Montenegro. Ivanović was given the captains band during this time and is currently still the captain of Serbia's U-21 side. He is considered by many as one of Serbia's best young players. He was named in the 'UEFA Team of the tournament' of the 2007 U-21 Championships held in the Netherlands where they became second.

    what Mark77 thinks about this:

BUY HIM SECCO!!! Do something right for once in your career. :p
The guy is a defender and scores more than Cassano. He plays everywhere on D and does it well.

Mark's small review: Saw him at the U-20 WC in Canada and I was impressed by his skills and the way he moved on the pitch for a big guy. Juve would definitely need a creative mid of that posture to add to an already good midfield group. Would work really well with Giovinco behind the striker Trezeguet.

Diego Capel Trinidad aka Diego Capel (born 16 February 1988 in Albox, Almeria) is a Spanish football player who currently plays for Sevilla FC of the Spanish La Liga. His usual demarcation is left midfielder. He has been called the new José Antonio Reyes, which has pleased him, as he regards Reyes as one of his idols. The young winger's main traits are pace, acceleration, and excellent ball skills.

He played in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup for Spain. He scored a goal in the first game, off a volley, against Uruguay, in injury time, tying the game 2-2. He got with Spain to the quarter finals where they were knocked out by the Czech Republic.

He has been heavily linked with English Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Mark's comments: Also saw him at the U-20 WC and in some Sevilla games. Very fast winger. Only a lefty that could work on his crosses. I was impressed by his pace and the way he gets in the box to shoot or pass to the forwards.

Lorenzo De Silvestri (born May 23, 1988 in Rome) is a very promising Italian football defender currently playing for S.S. Lazio.

Grown up in the club's youth system, De Silvestri was promoted to the first team in the 2005-06 season, but he made his debut only the next season, coming in twice as a substitute, and impressing with an offensive style and high pace. He is expected to have more chance to play as a regular in the 2007-08 season, being the second-choice right back for Lazio behind the 10-year older Lionel Scaloni, making his debut as a starter on August 25, 2007 in the first Serie A 2007-08 matchday against Torino and being again featured in the starting lineup for the return leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round that Lazio won 3-1 in Bucharest against FC Dinamo Bucureşti three days later.

Mark's comments: Very good young RB that is the ideal Massimo Oddo replacement at Lazio. Very fast full back that like many of them needs to work on his defensive skills, especially his positioning. Excellent crosses and I see a bright future for this kid.

He scored three goals in a UEFA Cup qualifying game against Zrinjski on August 2, 2007, in a 5-0 victory for Partizan, making it his first hat-trick in his career at only 17 years old.

    International career

He was a founding member of the Montenegro national team who played their first game against the Hungarians, March 2007. Stevan is also a regular for the Montenegro U-21's team and was appointed captain at just 17 years old. He recently played in the home and away legs against England U-21's.

My comments on Stevan Jovetić : Wonderkid and one of the biggest talents in Balkan. He signed contract a while ago, although he had an offer from Koeln ,and other europian clubs, which has offered to him more money than Partizan. He did it to repay to Partizan. He showed loyalty...I would welcome him here since he could learn from Del Piero and Trezeguet.

He played for the Slovan A-team in one match, in which he scored a goal.

He moved to Brescia in 2004 as a 17 year old young talent from Slovan. The transfer cost Brescia €500,000. His first match in Brescia was against Chievo Verona in March 2005. Later that season Brescia finished 19th and was relegated to the Serie B. In 2005-06 he played 24 league matches for Brescia in Serie B, Brescia finished 10th. Micah Richards

    Full name Micah Richards

Richards was born in Birmingham as his Kittitian parents were visiting relatives in the area at the time, but grew up in the Chapeltown district of Leeds. He attended Archbishop Cranmer CofE Primary School and his potential was immediately spotted by the school’s football coach David Moore, who drafted him into the school team at the age of seven. His boyhood team were Arsenal and his all-time favorite players are Ian Wright and Patrick Vieira.

A few years later he played for Leeds City Boys. He went to Wetherby High, near Leeds, and was signed on schoolboy terms by Oldham Athletic at the age of 12. He made the short move to Manchester City in 2001, with Oldham Athletic reputedly having a 20% sell on clause. In July 2006 Manchester City reportedly tried to buy out the clause, but Oldham refused. He also attended the Brazilian Soccer Schools scheme and retains strong links with this programme, with his father Lincoln actually running a Brazilian Soccer School in Chapeltown, Leeds.

    International career

In November 2006, Richards received a call-up to the England squad for a friendly against the Netherlands after playing only 28 professional club matches. He had previously won three caps for the England under 21 team, and was chosen to start the game on November 15, 2006 against the Netherlands after regular right back Gary Neville withdrew through injury. It made him England's youngest-ever defender, breaking the record previously held by Rio Ferdinand. He scored his first international goal in the qualifying-round match of Euro 2008 against Israel with a header on September 8, 2007.

    Manchester City

He made his first team debut on October 22, 2005 against Arsenal, coming on as a substitute and was given his full debut on February 12, 2006 against Charlton Athletic. Since making his first start he has played in the majority of Manchester City's matches, and was named as the club's Young Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season.

Richards came to national prominence when his 94th minute headed goal in a televised FA Cup fixture against Aston Villa gained City a replay. Following the game, an emotional Richards was interviewed by Garth Crooks live on BBC One. During the interview, he was asked about his goal and used the phrase "fucking hell", and then continued with the interview. At the end of the interview, host Gary Lineker apologised to the televised audience and put it down to "the inexperience of the young lad".

During the 2005-06 season, Richards captained the Manchester City youth team which reached the final of the FA Youth Cup. Richards missed the first leg of the final as he was on first team duty, but returned for the second leg. He helped his side to a 2-0 win over Liverpool, but Liverpool youth won the trophy 3-2 on aggregate.

In July 2006, Manchester City rejected a bid of £5m for Richards from Tottenham Hotspur. On July 25, 2006 he signed a new four-year contract, quashing rumours of a move away from the City of Manchester Stadium. Throughout 2007, Richards was linked with a big money move away from Eastlands, with Chelsea the main contenders to sign the youngster for £15m+. Stuart Pearce said "I am not actively looking to sell Micah because he has a great future here. Whatever offers come in for him, it is going to take a ridiculously big offer to get him out of this football club.I would love to see Micah stay here, captain the club, and maybe be here for 10 years and carry the club on his back if he can. He is good enough to do it. I have not worked with anyone so good and so young.". He was rewarded with the number 2 shirt for the 2006-07 season, a traditional first team number, rather than the number 45 he wore in 2005-06.

Richards lost his temper with his manager Stuart Pearce in front of Sky TV cameras after he was substituted during the Blues' 1-0 defeat at the Madejski Stadium against Reading on September 11, 2006. The teenage defender had to be calmed down by Paul Dickov after hurling his shirt out of the dug-out and following it up with a volley of abuse.

Richards' second City goal was also an injury time equaliser - this time in a 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on September 30, 2006. He started the 2007-2008 playing at centre-back. He put in a man of the match performance against Manchester United on the August 19, 2007. This prompted extremely high praise not only from the English media, but more importantly from his boss, former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson.

He captained the team for the first time on the September 16, 2007 against Aston Villa in the absence of team mate Richard Dunne, possibly making Richards the youngest ever City first team captain, beating the 21-year-old Steve Redmond.

    Videos

My comments on Micah Richards Definitely one of the best young defenders in the world.Would surely welcome him here.He can play in defence or in central midfield, but has become known as a right back who is useful for a goal threat at set-pieces.

Robin van Persie received his first full international cap against Romania on 4 June 2005. Despite not being an automatic first choice to start for Arsenal, Van Persie was selected as one of the Netherlands' forwards for the 2006 FIFA World Cup by national coach Marco Van Basten. His first World Cup goal came in the group match against Côte d'Ivoire, a free kick in the 23rd minute.

During the Euro 2008 qualifiers, Van Persie made an impact during games against Luxembourg and Belarus. Two goals in either halves and an assist helped the Netherlands claim a 3–0 win. He continued his form in the next two games, scoring against Bulgaria in a 1–1 draw and also in the 2–1 victory against Albania a few days later.

He has scored 7 goals out of 27 appearances.

    My comments:

Extremely talented player with a wicked left foot...He is yet to fulfill his potential in my book..i know he is capable of more..he's got a strong left foot, he's a free kick specialist , good close ball control , a composed finisher and an excellent dribbler..He has shouldered more responsibility now that Henry has left. My only criticism of him is that he tends to go missing for large parts of the game..and he seems to pick a major injury every season.

Karim Benzema (born 19 December 1987) is a French footballer of Algerian kabyle descent who plays in a forward role for Olympique Lyonnais. He has also been known to play anywhere down the left and right wings.

    Club career

A pure product of the Olympique Lyonnais youth academy, he is capable of playing as the main striker in Olympique Lyonnais' preferred 4-3-3 formation, but he can also play on both wings. Linked with major clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus, he has also been linked recently with a move to the Spanish giants Real Madrid, and English club Liverpool F.C. but despite all the interest from Europe's biggest clubs he has often reiterated his desire to keep playing for his hometown club and help them to win the UEFA Champions League.

    International career

After a lot of goals with the french youth teams[2], Benzema was asked to play for the Algerian national team, on December 9, 2006. He refused, stating that he would rather play for France. He then earned his first cap on March 28, 2007 in a friendly against Austria that ended in a 1-0 victory with Benzema scoring the only goal. He has since then become a regular part of the French national team and is likely to be part of the French squad for the Euro 2008.

Comments: Relatively big dude with pace that can score goals. At a young age already plays with the NT and David Trezeguet sees him as his future replacement with Juventus. Both have different styles so they could play at the same time. Benzema goes more wide and helps out the midfield at time.
