That's a pretty harsh generalization. I've seen more people drink alcohol than smoke weed. Hell, I've seen more pill-poppers and ones who sniff Erase-X to get a kick, and these two are lower in class than weed.

Pretty harsh, Burke.
There are houses not far from where I live that smell like a permanent pot den. Those people have checked out years ago but are still here as living corpses.

So what? You can't use that example to stereotype every pot smoker. That's like saying every student in the US is a psychopath who buys a gun, enters uni, kills a few students, and then kills himself to get a bit of attention.

Make a valid argument, Greg.

No it's not, not every student does that. But every pot smoker smokes pot. Duh.

To help Sheik out, very few potheads beat their wives, commit vehicular manslaughter, get into drunken brawls, or end up costing millions to tax payers via rehab.

One vice is a bad as another. To argue any further is useless.

Not that I completely agree with Burke here. I've used pot, and I have friends that went through their pot phases. But there are the pot worshipers... the people who brand themselves as pot-heads. There isn't even an equivalent among alcoholics that celebrate being inebriated and passed out all the time. That much is as low class as anything.

Well duh indeed. They won't be called pot smokers or else. I'm just saying that all pot smokers do not exhibit the same behaviour. If your next-door neighbour smokes pot all day and does nothing productive, doesn't mean that all pot smokers all around the world do the same. And that's certainly not a reason to despise pot smokers everywhere.

So because marijuana users generally lack a heroic struggle for redemption in the eyes of society they are low class? In contrast to a guy who drink enough that he drives his car into a crowd of people, kills a few, and drives off (true story), but because he sees his vice as a negative (only because he killed someone) he automatically of a higher class than the pothead?

Yea, I know exactly what you are talking about but in my experience those people are generally the type you wouldn't want to be around whether they smoked pot or not.

To support this point you are making. First, I dont do pot, and never have, but I annually go to a Reggae festival thats basically pot central, so been around alot of pot smokers. And I'll mention a basic difference between a festival with pot smokers and other music festivals I been to or heard of, who are frequented by drinkers (plus other drugs, but mainly alcohol consumption). The reggae festival is basically as mellow and non aggressive/violent as you can get, while these other music festivals are ripe with violent beatings, rapes and anything else fucked up you can come up with. And from personal experience to talking to security guard friends, they all agree its basically alcohol (and some heavy drugs) as main influence. That they rather police reggae festivals, because besides the usual petty thugs, its pretty cordial inviroment.

Though guess which one gets 200% police presence and harrassment? The reggae one, because they cant get over the pot part of it, and exaggerate heavily every year.
