Elkann sees Juve of the future
Saturday 18 July, 2009
Patron John Elkann believes extending Alessandro Del Piero’s contract is part of “Juventus building for the future.”

On Friday the captain added one year to his deal, keeping him with the Bianconeri until June 30 2011.

“Del Piero’s renewal is of great importance, and another step forward in Juventus building for the future,” said club owner Elkann.

“Juve have a lot of trust in tomorrow, as proved by signing a young Coach like Ciro Ferrara. I was glad to see a tough training regime and also how quickly the youth team players are settling in.

“Ferrara and his staff are taking big steps forward to be ready for the start of the season. I expect an entertaining team and only the results will tell us if the balance of power with our rivals has changed.”

The Turin giants have drafted in Diego from Werder Bremen, Felipe Melo from Fiorentina and Fabio Cannavaro as a free agent from Real Madrid.

“We believe [UEFA President Michel] Platini is right, as in football investment must be sustainable and we did what we could,” added the heir to the Agnelli empire.

“One must try to use the same criteria to guarantee consistency to both clubs and fans. We are also working on something special for players and supporters in the form of a new stadium.”

I really like how we are doing business. Next summer should be even better:) Hopefully we win a trophy and make it further in CL which would get us more money. We spent 50million so far this summer. Imagine if we spend that again just on defense next summer along with perhaps some more money if we make it further in the CL:weee:

The best part is, it will be all OUR MONEY and no one elses. No loans or wealthy beneficiaries. We are running a tight ship and our books are balanced. If we play better, more people will come to watch and we will sell out and make more money there too. Not to mention good old shirt sales with Diego/Melo (mostly Diego). The best part would be if Nedved came back in some managerial role.

I am loving where we are going.

the future looks bright, we will get a lot more ticket sales with diego this season, and then when the stadio is finished it will be great and hopefully sell out plus the money we get from the naming deal.
where finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after calciopoli.

FORZA JUVE!

Does anyone have any idea how the stadium is financed? Will we see immediate revenue from gate receipts or do we have to pour that money back into the loan payments? Any ideas anyone how the finances will work?

The light at the end of the tunnel is just Molinaro smiling after signing his contract extension :snoop: haha gloomy skies ahead

Don't you guys think that John Elkann has been giving more time on Juve than he did in the past? We are seeing more of him in the news, more of him in the stadium during the game and more of him involved in the transfer market.
If he managed to get FIAT back and running, he can do the same with Juve :) .

Why would we get more ticket sales with Diego?
That doesn't make any sense.

When it comes to Serie A attendances, we averaged at about 90% of the full capacity the past 2 seasons. There are absolutely no signs that this would be more this season (85% of last season's ticket holders renewed).

I guess we will see immediate revenue from gate receipts (amongst other stuff) once the stadium is completed. As far as I know the stadium is being built with funds from 3rd parties. Juve's expenditure (and loans) for the new stadium should be limited to a minimum.
