Forza India!

I'd rather be a Desi sitting in my own excrement than a Chinaman having sex with my boys-only 8th grade class in a Made-in-China hotel. :weee:

These pics must be from the poorest locations in the country. Couldn't imagine living in these conditions. Although, I'm sure the East river has some bodies floating 'round from time to time.

The dogs eating the dead bodies is the most disturbing part. I would freak out if I saw a corpse floating next to me.

India rocks. There's poverty everywhere. But it holds up a mirror: do you think the value of human life is measured in material comforts alone or not?

These are my photos from my last trip:

And yes, this is me pimping a couple of girls from Uttar Pradesh:

and me in a Sikh temple with a friend I made there named Raj who was the bomb (he scored me a deal on a killer Kashmiri rug):

You're wearing hybrid shorts/pants, Greg? Really? Really, Greg? :D

I'm sure there are nice parts of India. Some, not so nice.

And on top of that, people are bathing in the river and acting like nothing is wrong. Very odd.

Dude, when it gets 10,000-degrees by 10:30am, formalwear will last you only so long before you have to rip everything off to breathe again. ;)

The polluted environment can be seen easily too in Indonesia but Corpses floating in the water just beyond my imagination .
If a corpse is floating in the water in Indonesia, it's for entirely different reasons, however. In India it's deliberately religious.

I demand the thread title be changed to 'Pictures from Varanasi, India', because these pics are all from that shitty(see what I did there?). It's completely misleading!

That city is like a holy pilgrimage, and bathing in teh Ganga will supposedly cleanse your sins from you. Now consider a stereotypical, devout religious guy from India, and he will follow those words like the Ten Commandments. I despise such places and never go there. The one time when I was anywhere near varanasi was when I was 9 years old and it was one of the places I visited with my parents on an all-India trip. Say all you want, but the rest of India is not like this!

    :agree:

I hate the fact that the family of deceased people give more importance to cremating the body near the river and dumping them at the banks rather than care about the environment and how it's becoming worse due to thos riligious fanaticism!
