Which program is the best when it comes to Photo Editing and what do you use? I could use some pointers here!

i use microsoft image composer but it's pretty crap photoshop is pretty good, but i can't afford it.

Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard. That's if you can handle it. And its price

Jasc Paint Shop Pro is pretty decent for average use though.

Try Photoshop Elements. Basically a cut down version of Photoshop or Ulead Photo Studio.

Or better still buy the the latest PCPlus magazine and get JASC Paint Shop Pro5 for free.

Adobe Photoshop is still the best IMO Paint Shop Pro is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it's okay

I guess it's not good though because you wanted simple.
I don't understand nothing in this software. only to make Avatars.. I mean it's really good for resizing pictures.
