Mexes up for sale
Roma have put Philippe Mexes up for sale in the hope that his departure will raise the necessary funds to sign Nicolas Burdisso and Luisao.
Il Corriere dello Sport understands Roma's official position is that Mexes is “unsellable”, partly because of the relationship he enjoys with the fans.
However, the Giallorossi's directors are prepared to part with the French centre-back, who only has a year left on his contract.
He lost his place to Burdisso last season and doesn't appear to enjoy Claudio Ranieri's confidence.
Ranieri has made signing Burdisso on a permanent basis from Inter his No 1 priority this summer, but Roma currently don't have the money to realise that objective.

Roma believe just €4m or €5m would be enough to conclude a deal for Burdisso, leaving some spare change to pursue other targets.
