Not impressed with Xbox360 version. Most of same animations still in the game, gaunt stadiums atmosphere.. I didn't like Pes12, Pes11 so i don't think i'll play this.

I agree with the PES players who says they should completely change their engine, because it's really sucks now. I think as usual i'll be stuck with old school games. Pes5, Pes6.

Cheers for that list, indeed not bad for a start. I immidiately noticed it in Balotelli, C.Ronaldo and Nani when I played my first match.

Decent Demo for such an early build, improvements are there. I still find ball physics a bit floaty and traveling rather slow as opposed to general pace of the game (but that's matter of taste I guess)

loving the manual controlls (manual shooting is defo worth a try)

It does play pretty much 90% like PES 2012, although the Player ID feature does add a lot to the realism of the gameplay.

The last few PES games have been a bit 'floaty', but I noticed on shots and crosses that they have changed this somewhat. Shots feel harder and fast (subsequently goalkeepers seem to be a lot better to deal with them), as well as crosses. Defending feels a bit more responsive as well, not a lottery like before.

In terms of the crowds I'd say that some of the crowd noise was clearly missing, a lot of the time there were barely cheers when either team scored. That's down to the demo, but I don't expect the full game will have brilliant atmospheres. The Libertadores games in Brazil have some good songs.

Generally I think this is PES 2012 with updated features and nice touches to the gameplay.

Very little difference from last year. Which is like saying they decided to merely polish a turd.

Sadly as a Ps2 pes fanboy, FIFA is by far the better game.

PES 2012 isn't a turd, it generally gained 8/10 across the board from gaming sites. So it's a good football game, but not as good as FIFA 12, if you judge on that.

What I'm more interesting in from the FIFA player's perspective is what they would like to see change from PES, what would make you play PES also?

just done playing a few games on the demo (PS3), like what I saw...manual passing/shooting is going to change everything.

little bit tricky but the possibilities are just awesome.

also you can really tell who's Pirlo or Cassano, their movements are markedly different from the less skillful players.

the CBs are a little bit stupid though, keep making those Bonucciesque lunges which will get you into trouble if they miss.

that can be turned off though.

More fluid or natural animations, those players who are not "custom" made feel too robotic, the way the ball behaves also is kinda weird since pes11, defending was a pain in the ass, the goalkeepers suck and the AI wasn't really that good. sure you could move them with some control commands and stuff but the CPU should have some criteria by itself.

I don't know how to explain this but in Pes 12 sometimes when I received a pass, the pass sent seems like its very powerful yet the player has no issue controlling it, kinda feels like the moment the ball touches the player's foot it gets glued. It just feels awkwards.

The lack of licenses suck but I don't think there's much they can do there.

(btw, FIFA does have editing options, I currently have my local league and the Argentinian one in my game, they were created by other users.)

Pes online platforms is in diapers compared to Fifa and that's actually one of FIFA main selling points at least for me, I love playing online and Pes doesn't provide me the experience FIFA does.

The one time I tried to play Pes online I couldn't, it keep pairing me against some Japanese players and the latency was crap.

With that said, I'm kinda disappointed that they've gone this route as I was a PES freak in ps2/Xbox.

I've always been a PES fan since day one, the last one I got is 2010.

So much bad rep about PES lately, and people been praising FIFA for a couple of years now, but I dunno maaaaan.
I don't wanna buy both, so which one?

If you are a fan of animations, go with Fifa.. If you look for a more in depth gameplay where it takes a proper build up and tactics to score and beat opponents go with PES.
PES still represents the actuall game of football better IMO, with feeling less scripted and variety of outcomes and uniquness in each game you play.
for Online playing FIFA's abit better, I think.

Also what you said is pretty much same with me, I liked fifa 98 but then it was all PES/WE untill I played fifa08, I decided to buy fifa's as well.. but no matter the massive improvments fifa for me still is a soulless game and doesn't have longevity (it wears off after 2/3 months) unless you play it online.

How can people say this game is better than FIFA?.. I was at my friends house and tried it out on a PS3, Hdmi cable connected on a Flat screen LED FULL HD. So it was all fine there, but boy this game looked like Fifa 98' or some other football game from the 90'..... And Balotelli looks like some randsom african guy, no way in hell you could see it was Balo.. The graphic really sucks..

The game was very easy, I mean it was my first time and I was already scoring goals like mad, so that's what I mean with "easy".. Imma go back to FIFA...
