Pavel Nedved has caused something of a stir by claiming that Juventus' team from the 2005-06 campaign was better than Inter's treble winners last season.

The comment is particularly controversial in light of the fact that the Bianconeri were later stripped of that Scudetto by the Calciopoli tribunal.

Speaking to Rai, Nedved said: “I don't like talking about Calciopoli. People already do it too much.

“It's enough to look at the names in that Juventus team to understand that we could beat anyone, including [the current] world champions Inter.”
