Although he has been injured on and off we can't afford to lose him. If he goes for free we aren't going to get a player of his quality in the door and even if we did we would end up spending more on between a transfer fee and wages. With Chiesa's injury and big question marks in our attack it just doesn't make sense to lose him. The only thought process is maybe getting Vlahovic but even still we should be able to do that and keep Dybala if we can get players like Morata, Arthur and Ramsey off the books. Take into consideration that Kulusevski doesn't seem to be panning out as well.

I'd really hate to lose him, we don't have many players that have his quality in this team. If we can give him a capable midfield so he doesn't have to track back and be a midfielder as well i still think Dybala can be what everyone wants him to be.

What are we doing, testing his loyalty? Dangerous game. The thing is I think it's bad for both parties if he leaves, at least in a sporting sense.

Sure, someone will give him more money, but I think he loves it here, and the team can be built around him. I have reservations with him because of his fitness, but what I am pretty sure about is that in our current financial and sporting state we cannot sign a replacement as good as him. So that would mean taking another loss in the attacking area, and by the start of the next season we may only have Kean, Kaio Jorge and an injured Chiesa on our books. That is a frightening prospect for the club and fans alike.

It's possible we could sign an inferior player who contributes more than him, but you have to be quite lucky there.
I didn't see this but this is spot on, basically what I wrote.

Same deal. I’m 3 years younger than you. First memories of footie are 1990 World Cup. Baggio was my favourite player as a little kid. Followed by Del Piero and Zidane later.
Ahhh the italia 90 with the best looking mascot/logo out of all WCs and overall imo..Wasn't an Italy fan yet but I knew I didn't want any south Americans to win it lol
Fav player was Matthaus and that German machine with the nice kits.
Everyone was rooting for Maradona, I was rooting for some dude name Lothar and people didn't get it. Hated fucking napoli even back then and didn't know it.

I agree with his quality and that we wont be able to get a player like him, but at the same time, damn 10m contract until 2026? He will be 33 by then and I have strange feeling he could be burden for us in 2 years time, same as Higuain.
Crucial decision and i have no idea what i would have done if I was deciding.

I would have loved a burden like Higuain for this year. We would pay a lot but at least you know he scores..
Dybala`s potential is enormous but there are two problems here.
He needs better players to be able to shine properly and it doesnt seem to be happening anytime soon.
I see him as an on and off kind of player. He could come and do something amazing like his goals against Inter and his curler against Barcelona but he can also have an off game and it means he wont do much in that game.
The only season in which he was consistent is the one that won him the league`s MVP under Sarri.

Financial wise Dybala`s injury record and his on and off may suggest we shouldnt give him 10M but then again if we dont others will and it means we are losing one of our best players for free.

This is one of those times when I can gloat at being older than most. Had the pleasure of watching Platini in his prime. IMHO, Platini was way better than any other player we have had. Even better than Bernadeschi! o_O

Throwing these kind of comments to motivate players who are not highly sought-after is a good strategy. It's idiotic, however, to keep mentioning Paulo Dybala on the same sentence with a soon to be a 34 year-old, a Lyon reject and Bernardeschi.

I'm starting to think this Arrivabene fellow is a complete idiot. Remind me how bad did Scuderia Ferrari do under his guidance?
