Sydney has been pretty much living in a cloud of smoke for the last 2 months. It’s terrible. Fires all over the state, circling Sydney as well. Never had anything like this.

And we are pretty much at the start of summer too, it gets much hotter in south-eastern Australia in late Jan/Feb, and there is no significant rainfall on the horizon until around April apparently.

My friend told me today that she was under 44 degree celsius but out of fire risk for now, not like others close to 50 degree and near the fire areas. It's completely madness

It was 49 degrees in Penrith, a western suburb of Sydney. Madness indeed.
