I have yet to speak to anyone who believes Dybala for Lukaku is a good deal, its not its terrible
even worse apparently its Dybala + Cash for Lukaku
disgusting
Wait a minute. We are supposedly GIVING cash to United in this deal? Oh fuck me. Here comes my headache again.

This is all because this club overestimated the impact that CR7 had on our Champions League chances last year. We literally had to win the whole fucking thing in order to keep this group together. With his wages and that transfer fee, and our insistence (rightly so, may I add) that we are well within FFP constraints, this is what is happening.

So, we are just going to throw him out in the trash after a subpar season.

Lukaku's season was just as bad, if not worse, especially considering that he is supposed to be Man U's primary goal threat. And I like Lukaku, but he doesn't have nearly the level of skills that Dybala has.

Dybala for Pgoba? That makes perfect sense.

Dybala for Neymar? Hell fucking yes. All day , every day.

But this? Who are we kidding here?
With Sarri here I was hoping to see if he could turn it around. But I had hoped that if we were to sell him it would have been to bring in a WC midfielder or another great striker.

That seems to not be the case, so, I generally feel the same most do here but hoping there is a missing puzzle piece we don't see but it doesn't seem likely.

We don't know that for certain. Plenty of reasons IMO:

-FFP as you say
-Board has other ideas
-Board couldn't get past his mediocre season last year
-Sarri change of heart

who knows. This board is way off the traditional rails we have known for the last 8 years.

See, the thing is, I can only believe the first bullet point. Unless they are 100% convinced that Dybala can't play next to Ronaldo, which I find hard to believe. Not everybody can immediately gel with a legendary player on the same field. It takes time. And I also don't believe that they were put off by him after 1 subpar season. He was a big investment for this club, and it would be foolish to just dismiss him because of that. Not everyone is a Ronaldo or a Messi, where they have great seasons every year.

If the ideas of this board is to get worse by swapping Dybala for Lukaku, then congratulations. Mission accomplished

We may never know. We know Dybala can't play on the wing. We did, however, try him (albeit only a few times) as a CF and he didn't impress there either. My gut tells me the club doesn't think he will grow more than what he currently is, at least here. As talented as he is, his limitations are pretty clear and may be enough for the club to reconsider what the club values him as.

a 20+ goal scorer with incredible dribbling skills and deadly free kick specialist. What is his worth at that point?

I understand this, im not a Dybala fan, but even the biggest Dybala doubters think that he is better than Lukaku, at least for Sarri

Yes he has great dribbling and FK ability, all I'm saying is that whatever happened last season made the club skidish with him. Maybe they took it personally too with how he reacted to Max. They didn't defend Bonucci when he was benched in the club house nor did they tolerate Vidal when he had his driving issues, etc. Like I said, could have nothing to do with his ability rather they might be looking at something else.

Romeo Agresti: the Dybala-Lukaku exchange is more than ever a concrete hypothesis, the only reason why it has not yet been done is the will of Dybala to meet Sarri and better understand the situation.
selling dybala after last season was on the cards, but lukaku is such an underwhelming replacement.

it looks like we just have to go retard. every. single. mercato.

Juventus & Manchester United have discussed about Mario Mandzukic.
Dybala's agent is still in England to talk to Manchester Unite - the Argentine is expected in Italy to talk to Sarri, When he'll make his final decision it is possible that Juventus & Manchester United could proceed with the exchange with Lukaku. Juve could offer mandzukic dybala plus cash for Lukaku[Sky]

Dybala + Mandzukic + cash for Lukaku?:ratcafe:

It’s either I’m completely missing something or Lukaku has turned into PRIME drogba over night. And even then I don’t know if I’d make such a swap. Dybala still hasn’t unleashed his full potential yet. He’s been shackled somewhat for the duration of his time here.

This is absolutely insane. Radical.
