Pogba was leaving sooner or later even if we had won the CL. He always was destined to leave and he even went to his "home" club, not to be a mercenary. He would rather be a United legend than a Juve one.

Bayern did keep Ribery but they also, more recently, lost Kroos. We also kept Buffon who had TONS of interest, but lost Pogba. Barca lost both Thiago and Neymar. United kept De Gea, but most importantly lost Cristiano Ronaldo, further back you have Beckham. Who can keep track of the talents that Chelsea has sold over the years. These things happen. The only club where this barely happens is Real Madrid because they've been obscenely rich for the longest time on top of their top prestige.

Alexis has this happening like you say. Another example is Tevez at City. Dortmund has lost way too much money on the table by being stubborn and having their players run out their contracts and leave for free. Schalke is about to lose Goretzka for 0 euros. Its a big risk.

In any case. We can debate forever, there is no need, we both have our opinions.

A different question. How much is Dybala worth to us? is he worth 80m? 120m? 200m? No amount of money? How much is he really doing for us and how can we use that money to keep improving the team? (4-3-3?).

Unless he majorly steps up, I'd take a massive bid (150+) and be happy.

I wouldn't be upset either if we rejected everything and chose to commit to him.

The problem with dybala in comparison to pogba.. is that while pógba was a midfielder.... dybala is a striker, who can score, who is marketable..and who has that flair no one else o the team does.

Right now,... taking in consideration the inflated market and how he is playing... he should be around 120 milions. In fact,i think he would be worth even less because apart from that last game, he is playing like shid.

BUT..... if he is able to focus all his talent and fulfill his potential... he could become potentially too pricy for us to lose.

I gave you two examples in De Gea and Ribery, even Countinho has played well so far and he desperately wants to leave. The only recent exception I can think of is Sanchez but that's because Arsenal are awful. Players tend to change their mind, once they believe in the project again. I really think part of Pogba leaving was due to the Bayern game; reckon he might have thought this was evidence that 2015 was either a fluke or impossible to repeat now that Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal had left, and bought the hype of Mourinho going to Man Utd and bringing Ibrahimovic with him. Pogba would of most likely stayed if he reached the final in 2017, that would be enough evidence that 2015 was no fluke.

I think it also has a lot to do with Conte being replaced by Allegri. The players would've followed Conte in hell and it's no surprise we didn't lose important players with him here. Allegri is more of an unorthodox tactician, but nowhere near the charismatic leader Conte was, ffs the guy frequently clashes with his own players

So Juventus would have played with 10 men then without Higuaín right? There's no evidence to suggest we would have lost to Monaco without Higuaín. We don't know who the extra man would have been instead of him, how our formation would have played out, and we only really conceded the goal when we thought the tie was over.

You’re probably right. But it just shows that Allegri is the superior coach able to adapt to changing players and implementing new styles of play every season. Something that stubborn and moaning Conte would probably struggle with.

I agree but in a different way. I think Allegri has always been a yes man to upper management. (Look at how he was treated at AC Milan.) Conte on the other hand has a stronger personality and wouldn't have accepted selling either of the two.

Generally the club has a certain idea about what players are supposed to come in as replacements when players are sold. We never go "oh fak we sell now". All big sales are agreed in the final part of the season and we tend to get the replacement by early summer. I'm fine with that. Determination and motivation is critical. Our plan and playstyle cannot condone lazy , uninterested fucks. Dybala can somethings be shitty the peasant fuck, but he'll keep doing his work.

Yes it was an often flat game but his application and general performance from 1-94 was a lot better than the Verona games. Obviously he didn't get any goals in this one so many don't care but he had a bit of a step back.
