You're right. It's history. Nobody looks at the history but current success. You're a guy, no? When you wanna hook up with some girl do you have standards of 16yo version of yourself, or current you? When you look at the job, do you look at your first $#@!ty job or tons of new experience?

I bet Neymar doesn't give a $#@! who played for PSG before Arabs bought them. Also, I don't think any player is seeing how we used to sign Nedved, Ibra, Buffon, Thuram and others. They see our current team and our current signings. Why would they care about the past? Sure, status and fame counts, but they don't count if you're not in that position anymore. My point being: lucky or not, both Spanish clubs have the two best players in the world. They hold the fame, marketing and money at the moment alongside with Bayern. Players dream about joining them. Sadly, they see Juve as a step forward in their career as we're a huge club, but it's not the last step in their career. That's why I see both Dybala and Sandro leaving in the future.



You know what I find sad? Our signings. While I don't have anything against them that my $#@! falls off, I think it's rather sad when you see how our moves did not change despite of us reaching the CL finals 2 times over the past three years. And you are in the same boat as us, although ahead of the curve in regards to infrastructure. Bayern, like Juve, is basically one strong horse pulling the rest of the league.

Until the time comes that more teams are more competitive, and can actually challenge for titles, the perception will always be out there that we are in 1 team leagues, and you can't generate the interest, and TV revenue needed to compete. People outside of their own fanbases don't want to watch a league where the champion is basically pre-determined.

PSG is an outlier because it seems like they are funded by the UAE, but even then, they don't win the title every year.

People call La Liga a 2 team league. Fine. But those two teams happen to be, far and away, the 2 most popular, most watched, with the most merchandise sold in the world. And as a TV viewer, if RM isn't on that week, then Barca is. Or better yet , both could be on that week.

And say what you want about the EPL, but that is far and away the most open league every year. Any one of 6 teams could win the title, and that draws people in.


Everyone on this forum who was, and is, of the "Fuck Serie A" mindset, well, this is where we are. With the very real chance that a star will be sold in order to balance the books, as mandated by a board who sees that Serie A as a whole is decades behind everyone else.

Until that changes, get used to this. Every year. Regardless of how much our revenue grows year over year. It won't be enough until the rest of the league starts pulling its own weight.

In a way I agree, but the biggest thing holding us back will always be MONEY. Plain and simple MONEY. We will always be penny pinching for a Matuidi or letting a Draxler slip to Wolfsburg simply because we cannot afford to pay those high prices that others can. City sucks arse, but Pep can just point to any player he wants, the club names their price and the oil kings just pay whatever they ask. We win titles every year, have developed world class players and have been in the CL final twice in 3 years. What do we get? Selling key players every summer and penny pinching on those last 5mils on players like N'Zonzi. A club that can give high wages (higher than ours), club that has almost double our revenues, club that has one of the best players in the world in their squad, players that they keep and usually reject all of the bids unless some crazy club triggers a release clause.

If players dream about joining an elite club they surely think of either Real or Barcelona. Just because we reached 2 CL finals in 3 years doesn't necessarily mean that we're the best club in the world, because, imo, we're far away from that. Although, I gotta admit, we're on a good road (bar this transfer mercato which is getting me worried).

After Juve there's actually another step forward in the future and it's joining clubs like Real. If you think we're at that level then I have nothing else to add.



You're right about all of that. But is it possible to lose Dybala? It surely is. Will he stay here next season? Maybe. Will he be here in 5 years? No, he won't. Because, as it stands, it's just a matter of time before we finalize his sale. Like PI mentioned, it usually takes 3-4 seasons, while Dybala has been here for only two. Even if we manage to keep and even if we rejected bids for him (which we did) it doesn't mean he's here to retire.

The thing is you make it sound as it is a done deal this summer which is far away from truth. I agree Dybala will leave sooner or later but it should be done on our terms. To sell him this summer is no way beneficial for us because we cannot replace him. We need to see whether guys like Keita and Berna are good enough to fill Dybala's role and give them time to settle in. I'm fine with selling him next summer for a ridiculous fee if he's gonna have Fc Barcelona written all over his forehead. There was an interesting rumour that Dybala himself may actually reject barfa offer as there's no place for him while Messi and Suarez are there. Currently he could play in the centre or right wing (less effectively) but those are Messi and Suarez positions. It's less likely that Barca will switch to 4-3-1-2. Even if they did, there is zero chance he would play higher up than Leo so again he would be stuck at 3/4. Will barfa break the bank for Dybala while they need a LWF? They're would be much better of acquiring Coutinho and a midfielder.

Yes, one may say that we bought Pipita, but come on, we spent so much just because we sold Pogba. Just like we're gonna spend so much IF we sell Dybala eventually.

Look at our recent moves. Tevez, Vidal, Pirlo, Barzagli, Morata, Rugani, Caldara, Dybala, Pogba, etc. You see the pattern? It's players that needed to revive their career and young players with potential that we could place our hands on using the opportunity/Raiola. We ended up shaping Pogba & Morata and shipping them off. We did the same with Vidal. We're doing it with Dybala now.

We are a great club and in the top 10 in the world. No doubt about that. But we can't compete with the top clubs when it comes to players. That's why we never chase Neymar, James Rodriguez, Suarez, Jesus and others. It's money that gets them and money is coming from Spanish clubs, Bayern and some Arabs.

I might be wrong but I think once player has taken its shape I think they dream about Real and Barca. I also think playing at Camp Nou that's always filled is a big deal for them. And it's not just Barca per se, but Spain, and La Liga. I think their league is far more attractive than Serie A. In Spain you compete with Real Madrid, the best club in world, and you get to play alongside Messi. It's a big deal. In Italy you get to play infront of 30% crowd in the empty stadiums, horrible stadiums and without any tough competition. Napoli is strong but they spend peanuts. Roma was strong yet they sold everyone. It's just us. Once you reach a certain level I think players desire to leave the club, just like it happened with Vidal, Pogba and others. And mark my words. It's going to happen with both Dybala and Sandro. It's just a matter of time. It might be next summer, or 2-3 years. But they will leave us for top clubs.

The barca players you mentioned bar Suarez are mediocre for a top team standards. Then you go on saying how we are behind basing your opinion on the transfer market.
