Jesus Christ, he won't be cr7 or Messi. Doesn't mean he can't be one of the very best, doesn't mean he can't lead us to the promised land.

It's also only his second year playing CL, throw into the mix that he is learning a new position.

and we have some systematical problems as a group that we need to adress. Managers coach...all of them have problems that need to be adressed.

Its way too easy to blame all on him when we do not play with players that can strenghten him.

He was shid yesterday no doubt.. but IMO the other 2 monsters mentioned have teams that play for them and in ronaldo{s case..he is supplied by world class passers.

Pretty unfair,.

Definitely, and not only in a football related way.. but mentally too. Most likely he got very nervous from that early yellow.
That yellow card broke him. You could see it in his face. He may "already" be 23 but it's also only his second European campaign. He still needs to grow. Give him time.

I guess the early yellow can be a factor but still....being unable to control a ball, giving up the ball, missplacing passes...he was atrocious.

He was never going to be the next Messi or Ronaldo, but then again, who from this generation of players can say that about themselves? Any top team in the world maybe except for Madrid would love to have him.

The Messi/Maradona comparisons are really weighing on a lot of people's minds, but he could still be a great player without reaching their level.

Martial is showing signs of being the next CR7

Ahh yeah, that makes more sense. I'm still cautiously optimistic of how he'll do in Year 2 now that everyone knows who he is, but the kid looks like he has it all.
after watching him against BBC in the first leg im no longer cautiously optimistic. I have no doubt he will be an amazing player. Hope a prem club can sign him because if he goes to Madrid they are anally plowing the football world for the next 10 years.
