Q: Can you imagine having a career like Del Piero or Buffon?

Dybala "Actually yes. Their story fascinates me: 20 yrs in the same shirt."

Dybala "It doesn't only depend on me (depends on the club too) but it would be very nice to win what they won while staying at Juventus."

Plan to keep #21 or take #10 if it's free?

Dybala "The #10 is now occupied (by Pogba) & I hope the case is so for a long time."

These player threads are unusually quiet now.

Here's the rest of the interview. Great one by TS. Only thing they're good for.

Dybala on his Juve journey "It was as I expected, I knew that I was joining one of the strongest teams in the world and so it was."

Dybala on the bad start "I never regretted my decision (joining Juve). Never. Not even in our worst moment when we were 12 pts off the top."
Dybala "I was aware many changes had happened & many of us had to understand what Juventus was, & above all I knew it wasn't over."

Dybala on Juve's comeback "It reminds me of Italy in 2006, they didn't start well & were close to going out but then made it to the top."

Dybala on the first WC he watched "2002, Korea & Japan, I was crazy about Ronaldinho, I admired everything he did, he was my idol."

Dybala on his best moment at Juve "The first time I put on the Juve shirt & realized I was part of the team. It was a strong emotion."

Dybala "Worst moment? The elimination vs Bayern. It still burns, burns to death and for me it was worse, I was in front of a TV in Turin."
Dybala "It was a terrible night, it was snowing, I was there alone, without being able to give my teammates a hand & without being there."
Dybala on watching the last seconds vs Bayern "I was convinced we had made it, it was very bad. We were so close, I'd rather not remember."

Funniest moment? Dybala "There are loads, we have a lot of jokers in the dressing room, from Paul, who makes the most jokes, to Pereyra."

Dybala "My best goal this season? The one vs Sassuolo because that shot I had trained & studied and it worked."

Dybala "Most difficult goal? The penalty vs Chievo. We were down 1-0 & I was already at the center of criticism."

Dybala "Most important teammate? For me it was Claudio (Marchisio), he was by my side since day one."

Dybala "Easiest to get along with? Paul (Pogba) & Tucu (Pereyra), they're the ones who set the music."

Dybala "Wisest teammate? Buffon & Evra & a few more. They are more mature, we the younger ones are always joking!"
Dybala on advice from Buffon, Evra & co. "They teach us a lot, they explained to us the Juve mentality & the kind of air they breath here."
Dybala "They teach us to joke at the right time & be serious at the right time, and a lot more some stuff that don't leave the locker-room."

Before Ronaldinho, any idols as a kid? Dybala "Riquelme, a player I liked a lot & Boca had a great team back then."
Still have idols? Dybala "No, points of reference, for ex: my teammates at Juve. Now I want to be myself & in return an idol for the kids."

Dybala "Similarities with Messi? It makes me happy to hear such stuff, it means I'm working well."
Dybala "I don't know if I can become like Messi, at my age he had already won a Golden Ball, let's say my aim now is to win one as well."
The comparison with Messi doesn't weigh on you? Dybala "Not at all. It gratifies me, because then I only try to be myself."

Pogba says he wants to become stronger, like Pele & Maradona. Dybala "He can become so & I hope he does. He has amazing qualities."

Dybala "For me, I try to set the bar season-by-season, I set goals and try to achieve them. Of course always trying my best to improve."

Dybala "In Italy they defend hard & well and the small teams don't play reckless football like in Spain where they concede 7 or 8 goals."
Dybala "Messi & Ronaldo won't be able to score 80 or 90 goals in Italy, maybe 30-40 like Higuain, but certainly not 80."

Dybala on why there is more talent in Argentina than in Italy "Because in Argentina they put you in the 1st team at 17-18, you grow faster."
Dybala "In Italy it's different, they bet on mature players. Talents struggle to find space & so don't grow. There's Donnarumma and......"
Q: When you train with the Primavera (at Juve) players, you notice some that could be starters in clubs in Argentina? Dybala "Definitely. If they were at Boca or River they'd be in the first team. They have the quality & features that allow them to debut."

Dybala "Then if it's available, I'd like it very much. Although I also really like #21, worn by Zidane & Pirlo, it has an important story."

You have any idea if Paul (Pogba) stays or not? Dybala "I don't think about it, it's Paul's problem!"

Dybala on refusing Italy "Actually Conte did not call me himself, it was through a 3rd party, it was difficult, but I feel Argentinian."
Dybala "It would be a lack of respect for Italy to wear the Azzurri jersey just to get a call-up (to the national team)."
Dybala "I know the competition in the Argentina national team is crazy, but I feel Argentinian...."

Expected Juventus to be so great? Dybala "I expected an organized club, but not as much as it really is, to be honest. It's unbelievable."
Dybala "There's a crazy number of people working to put us in the best condition. People you don't see on TV, who contribute to our wins."

Dybala on Juve "A great club, most loved in Italy, with fans everywhere who are truly in love with the team. I'm proud of their affection."

Dybala "What do you feel entering the Juventus Stadium? For opponents, definitely fear. I say it because I tried."
Dybala "I was surprised. When I came here to play with Palermo it was very tough: it's very hard to concentrate with such an environment."
Dybala "Then with the Juve shirt on it's much easier because I see in their (opponents) eyes the same confusion I had (with Palermo)."
Dybala "The stadium puts a lot of pressure on opponents, then you're also playing vs. the strongest team in Italy, that doesn't help too!"

Dybala "Italy's divided into two: fans of Juventus & those who hate Juventus. But it's normal, in Argentina it's the same with Boca /River."

Dybala "I take many blows but those are the risks of the game. If I complain to the referee I get booked, so I take the beating & shut up."

Dybala on free-kick duties at Juve "I take the ones on the right then I have to fight Paul, Bonucci & Hernanes for the ones on the left!"
Dybala "But Paul has improved a lot, he trains twice a week."
Dybala "Pirlo & Free-kicks? With Pirlo it's better to have a free-kick than a penalty!"

Dybala "Music? My favorite group is La Barra, from my city, Cordoba. Then Ramazzotti, my mom is a huge fan I had her meet him, & Coldplay."
Dybala "But before games, only La Barra, they remind me of my hometown & it charges me up."

Jesus, that look longer than I thought.

Lots of great stuff. Two things that keep getting mentioned every time in every interview are how great the "family" is and how great the management, staff, and the organization of the club are.

So Conte didn't even try to convince him. You have the worst attacking generation ever and you're too big-headed to give a potential future Messi a call. @Raz

It would been embarrassing to try to convince. The kid is obviously Argentinian and unlike some of the impatient Oriundi mercenaries, he has clear future with his country and NT.

Juventus star Paulo Dybala, who has 16 goals for the Serie A champs, has caused a bit of a storm for his quotes on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lione Messi regarding if they were to ever play in Italy.

"Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would not have scored 80-90 goals in Italy, perhaps 30 like [Napoli's Gonzalo] Higuain, but not 80."

So true.
