Has Dybala played against that level of side before?

Or were Juve the best team he's played against?

Anyway, he's not yet accustomed to that level.

There is always an issue that when a player like him gets the ball so little in a game he will tend to lack the composure to do the right thing when he does get it.

Normal problems for a young player.

we were playing like shid as a whole too. The few balls ghe received were all with 3 or 4 bayern dudes near him and few options to proceed.

Indeed.

I never quite understand people singling out individuals (or arguing over who was the worst player among several options) in such circumstances instead of just acknowledging there was a collective issue (mental/tactical) leading to a collectively poor performance.

True that, a general cluster fuck really. Whats even more bizzare is I had to explain in the match thread how Pogba was the most useful player in first half exactly because he handled the pressure of being closed down with such intensity the most of all, and was able to intercept key passes several times. But apparently since Pogba wasnt dazzling with highlight reel level super stardom performance, he was as useless or most useless of all, weird perception of things. Like the match sitaution and how bad we were as a unit was irrelevant to it all.

yeah. it was difficult to judge specially our forwards since they were with ZERO support from the rest of the team.

If any, midfielders and the fullbacks should be pointed first, and even then is unfair because the root of the problems were deeper than a couple guys underperforming. Yesterday , we got all wrong from minute 1...formation maybe, tactics gameplan. Everything.

He was working very hard, almost as hard as Mandzukic.

You can even see him screaming on Robben's goal trying to confuse him I guess. :D

Was good enough for his first performance against a side like Bayern (City are good, but nowhere near Bayern level) and took his goal like a seasoned veteran fooling Neuer.

However, a player like him needs to be more dangerous in games like these.

It's a shame his first touch let him down when Bonucci played him clear of the defense.

Great for first performance against side like Bayern? No it wasnt, exceptionally cold on the goal, but overall performance was not great at all, far from it, despite the mitigating circusmtances of new on this type of stage and the awful overall game from his team in most of the hour he was on the pitch.

He did pretty well considering his lack of experience and my faith is totally on him, if we can win in munich my money is gonna be in him (I would also put money on sandro but I'm not sure max is gonna giving him a chance)

He had all the composure in the world when he scored, its telling tbh

Seems like you are like the only one who'd agree that pogba was top 3 juventus players this game.

Players lost the ball everywhere. Pogba controlled it without losing it, held off one or two defenders in his back, and move away or passed it to a teammate before it got intercepted. He was the only one in the entire team who was doing that.

When he lost the ball, its cause he was doing difficult stuff, but his ball retention and recovery. easely our best midfielder.

Except that Pogba has been disappointing throughout the whole season.

He has to develop a right foot. There's just no way around it. I saw a couple miscontrols because he tried the outside of his left foot instead of the inside of his right foot. When you are being pressed to death you have to be technically sound at all times. It's so much harder to play the way he does, one footed.

I don't even think he had a bad game but, at least this year, you're always going to have the image of Tevez in your head to compare him to. And there were a few times you could have said Tevez would have done better. And that is the level Dybala should aspire to be at and there are things he can do to get there.

you are right. he should develop his right foot.
and i believe he will.

comparison with tevez is interisting discussion.
what did tevez do in his first CL with us? zero goals.
even tevez had difficult period. give dybala time.
he is 22 years old.

Robben and Messi sure don't use their right foot too often.

I think Dybala is not too far behind those two in terms of ball control, dribbling, passing or even shooting. His first touch could be better.

Do you mean when he lifted his leg up and couldnt control the ball? That was the kind of balls only Ibra can control man.
