yeah, and just maybe he is a left-footed player who is not strong enough to receive a ball in the middle with his back to a post, so he drives right where he can get the ball easier and face opposign defender. And most often it's one defender, not as crowded as in the middle.
I dontg mind that. I prefer it to be that way, than converting him a false 9 and see him choking.

He is not a false 9, he plays in his best role now - free-roaming treq. The problem is when he drops right and Cuadrado moves in middle we are instantly like one player down, because Cuads is useless in corwded places. That's why Berna is gonna be a lockdown starter when settles down.

I don't think Cuadrado is useless in tight spaces. He has good technique and doesn't require acres of space to beat his man. What I don't understand is that even though we basically play the same four players upfront as last season, you get the feeling like every time it's their first game together.

In tight spaces Cuads either tries to go right if there is one defender against him, or dribbles, then trurns his back and loses the ball/earns a foul. He is no Sturaro or Licht, of course, but it's hard to play quick one-two on irregular pace with him. Juan either goes full-speed or dribles standing still, it's hard to gradually build up something with him.

He drifts to often to right, almost where Cuadrado plays and I dont know what the $#@! is he doing there so far from the opposition box when he is most dangerous there ...I bet $#@!ing Allegri and his geometrical italian tactical bull$#@! is the reason.
I think a lot of it is to do with Sturaro playing at RB. It completely unbalanced the right side of the team. He was often in the wrong position, dragging Cuadrado nearer to the right back position and Dybala over to the right to take over the space left by Cuadrado.

In the first 20 mins this was a problem with Benatia, Sturaro and Cuadrado almost getting in each other's way at times they were so close together.

This practically. He is not a fantasista, and even when it seems he is full of trickery, is not the case. He has quick turns and is an speedster who does well when he has space, but in crowded places he hesitates, keeps the ball on his feet too much, and ultimately takes a bad decition most of the time or simply stalls the play.

Considering his talent he played like $#@!
He was playing on the left mid as soon as Mandzukic got sent off, it's hardly a role that suits him especially when we were mainly sitting back defending for most of that time. I thought he did better than I would have expected in that role.
