But why do we need to sell every summer a major name to balance banks or smth. Its not like we scrape to top 4 somehow or not or pass the CL groupstages once in 3 years. We make CL knockouts, finals and still the income isnt good enough without needing to sell?

Taking that into consideration yeah, i can for sure see us sell Dybala in the near future. But in that way we always remain one step behind the Reals, Bayerns, Barcas basically. So next summer when we need to replace Buffon and Barzagli, we need to sell Dybala. Then when we find those replacement, the year later we sell Pjanic.

Fking annoying rollercoaster this. When will we not sell a major star? Last time was 2014 right? And some people here dream of Verratti and Mbappe.
Here's the thing, though... the quality depth that is now at Juventus means that basically any time a member of the starting 11 is sold, he's going to be a star. In a sense, that's a good thing.

Anyway, this is what professional sports has become. Take solace that Juventus has got some quality professionals running the club, Bonucci's successor is already owned by the club, and Juve is still poised to compete with the best in Europe for years to come.

Most of the elite teams we compete against in CL to win it dont sell their major stars. With one-two exceptions here and there, Kroos wanted to go from Bayern to Real. Barca got rid of Alves but maybe it was about time long term (he was there almsot 10 years and before that Alexis was last one? Who was never really a main man there and who they replaced with Neymar so even upgrade-esque), and Real obviously get rid of a name every now and then like this loan of James, Di Maria in the past but Real are exception cause of their management wanting to bring in new stars all the time, there will always be faces to make way. But they dont sell for money, seems rather for personal change.

For us it seems like, we need to sell x player for x reason.

Juve sells big players because they ask to leave. If players don't want to be here, they're respectfully escorted to the door. That's the reason. Based upon recent results, that philosophy has actually been working pretty well.

Part of why players leave is probably because of money -- although Juve salaries have started increasing again the past couple years. Part of it is that Juventus/Serie A has lost some of their past prestige, post Calciopoli. As a whole, the league definitely needs to rebuild its brand. Reinvest in its infrastructure, fill some modern stadiums, and the Milan teams need to start pulling their weight again.

Some of the reason for the sales is also that players get homesick, crash Ferraris while drunk, don't understand/disrespect the club/number 10, and (POSSIBLY) get into fights with their teammates at halftime of a CL final. Anyway, I get where you're coming from, but be patient as the club (and league) rebuild their brand. And remember, 3 years ago Madrid went down, 2 years ago Bayern would have gone down if not for a good goal by Marota being chalked off and Evra losing his mind at the end of the game, and last season Barca took a beatdown. Last season, the club was 45 minutes away from a treble. This has been an historic period for the club, and Juventus has definitely returned to their rightful place among Europe's elite clubs.

Also, it may not help your mood much, but think of what those players were brought in for, and think of what the overall return was. It's hard to see players you love leave, but on the whole Beppe and Paratici have done some real good business in recent years.

Speaking of Neymar...Rumours are emerging now that PSG are willing to pay the release clause for him.

I bet Barca will come knocking for Dybala once again if that happens. Will we be able to hold on to Dybala then? With a Barca who might even be willing to overpay?
