Still, you can see from what he said that he has been mentally shot since Covid, he's got little confidence. I don't think he's ever been good controlling the ball under pressure and coming into that midfield area. He's both a tactical conundrum and a player out of form, which is not a good combination at all. The saving grace is that we know what he can do when he is in form. Get him in the area he scored from, it's his zone. Move him out of that and he's half the player.

It looks clear that Juve's best team right now includes Morata and not him, so that's a situation he'll need to adapt to. He's never seemed to be mentally strong so I'm wary that he might not be up to the challenge, but there are lots of games and not many options up front, so we need him to return to something like his old form.
