So what can we expect from Dybala under Sarri?

Or do we sell while we still can?
Id say sell while we can. But expect Sarri to want to keep him, and if we assume the rumors of him wanting to build around Pjanic, Berna (and Rugani lol) to be true, then Dybala could get to play striker finally. So same way we played most of this season but with Dybala instead of Mandzu, Berna at RW. Watch him still spend half the game next to Pjanic in midfield somehow

Here’s a video of Dybala’s goals in 2017/18:

The following goals were scored from outside the box: 1, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 20, 22

The following goals were very difficult to score despite inside the box: 6, 7, 9, 17, 18, 23

Dybala scores 26 goals last season (our top scorer), and 15 of them were some form of individual brilliance (58%).

According to this chart, no one outscored his xG as much as Dybala did last season. In other words, Dybala scored far more goals that he realistically should have based on the quality of his chances.

In some ways you could argue that Dybala’s goal tally of 10 this season is more representative of the quality of chances we create for our forwards, now that Dybala is no longer constantly scoring individually brilliant goals at an unsustainable rate.

So, Dybala, a SS with a stelar shot in and around the box and dribbling in tight spaces as his main qualities, should not be provided the passes when hes got the chance to use one of these qualities, but should only be created not difficult to score chances inside the box for, on a regular basis. I swear, these stat stans are ruining the sport

Nobody is saying that Dybala should never score individually brilliant goals. Where did I ever say that?

The point I’m making is that Dybala scored so many brilliant goals in 2017/18, it was unsustainable in the long run.

I know you, youre blaming Max for not creating enough chances for him, which is nonsense (for last season)

It’s not nonsense, it’s true. It’s statistically proven that we don’t create enough chances.

We get away with it in Serie A, because our opponents don’t have enough quality going forward to punish us.

In Europe it’s a different story.

Yeah right, if statistics say so it must be true

so you don't trust my judgement, and you don't trust the statistics which support the claim that we don't create as many quality chances as other top teams.

You might as well stick your head in the sand, if the truth hurts you that much.
Neither you nor the guys making those stats know what a "quality chance" is

Keep telling us how many "quality chances" we create as opposed to how many we should
All you have to do is watch our CL matches from last year. Dybala was a major part of why we didn't create more chances. Dude took 33 shots in 8 matches. Rarely looked up to pass to teammates around or in the box, just got tunnel vision and fired away. And managed to miss even the several good chances he had.

But he did score once in those 8 matches. :delpiero:

You proved with your initial post that you dont know what quality chances are, the stats are probably made by guys with similar wisdom
If you can’t accept the data, then that’s your problem, not mine.

Our play under Allegri was shit, and evidently the board agree, which is why they sacked him.

Allegri wasnt sacked. Your data is as full of flaws as your arguments, not even worth commenting

What does the data say though? Did we creare enough quality not difficult to score chances inside the box? How much was it individual brilliance gone wrong?
