it just occurred to me though, why is it zamparini who always gloat so much instead of say... their sporting director?
Zamparini is both President, sport director, coach, doctor, head chef and therapist in Palermo. It just happens so that there are other people who have those job titles waiting around for direct instructions from him on what to do.

That, and he loves the sound of his own voice.

And he loves seeing himself on TV, listening to the sound of his own voice

Dybala agrees Inter deal?
By Football Italia staff

It’s reported Paulo Dybala has agreed a deal with Inter, but the Nerazzurri are some way from matching Palermo’s valuation.

The Argentinian striker has been linked with clubs all over Europe, with Juventus thought to be among the front-runners.

However, according to Calciomercato, Inter are now in pole position, having agreed a deal in principle with Dybala.

The website claims that the Beneamata have agreed on a wage deal and length of contract, and have made a bid for the 21-year-old.

However, Calciomercato believes that the bid falls some way short of Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini’s asking price.

Zanetti: 'We’ll move for Dybala’
By Football Italia staff

Javier Zanetti dreams of an Inter move for Paulo Dybala and pairing him with Mauro Icardi, and reflects on the possibility of Mario Balotelli returning.

The Nerazzurri are linked with interest in Palermo’s in-form 21-year-old striker, and today their Vice-President has made public his admiration for his compatriot.

“I met Dybala at a game for my charity foundation, and I believe that in these recent years he has shown all of his value,” Zanetti has told the Corriere dello Sport today.

“In this latest season, his progress has been crazy and he has had a remarkable consistency in his performances.

“Someone like him would be wanted by every club, and Inter is no exception. We will make an attempt to buy him.”

Reports are that Zanetti may have already spoken to Dybala in a bid to sway his decision.

“I am in full agreement with Piero Ausilio and the directors and I like how we are moving. I am supportive, but I love to work in silence.

“Would a partnership of Icardi and Dybala net 40 goals a season? I don’t know about that, but for Serie A they would form a very respectable attack.”

Mario Balotelli may also be linked again with a return to Inter this summer, following a difficult year at Liverpool.

“In football, anything can happen. Right now we are trying to build a team in tune with the indications from Roberto and the characteristics of those we seek we have discussed before.

“But if Mancini asks for Mario…

“His form after leaving Inter? I thought that he would find that continuity of performance in order to become an important player.

“He has many qualities and with us, beyond a few games, he often made the difference. It would be good for Italian football if he was calmer and proved his worth.

“His behaviour when at Inter? We spoke to him a lot. He too was disappointed and promised not to repeat certain mistakes. But then, after repentance and apologies, he’d do it again… If he had stayed at Inter, he may have progressed.”

Juve raise Dybala offer, but…
By Football Italia staff

The Gazzetta dello Sport anticipate a bidding war between Juventus, Milan and Inter for Palermo forward Paulo Dybala.

The young Argentine is increasingly expected to leave the Rosanero in the summer, following an effective season in front of goal for the mid-table team.

Juve, who are seen to be leading the way, are understood to have used apparent talks between Beppe Marotta and Maurizio Zamparini yesterday as an opportunity to increase their offer to €30m.

It is just as equally believed that Palermo’s President has dropped his asking price to below €40m.

Dybala, who is seen by the Gazzetta dello Sport as still having a significant say on where his future will be, is believed to have prioritised Juve’s interest, but without ruling out offers from elsewhere.

Those include, according to the Gazzetta, moves from both Milanese clubs. Inter are reported as having tabled an instalment-based offer of €28m for the 21-year-old, whilst Milan’s Silvio Berlusconi is suggested as readying a 'generous offer’ to Zamparini.

Inter’s advances are also reported to include Javier Zanetti approaching Dybala to try to convince him of the value of move to the Nerazzurri.
