Yes, but how rare were those transfers? And do you remember the uproar when the transfer records were being broken. I remember the Pope being pissed off after Lazio broke the world record to sign Christian Vieri :D The money now for unproven young players is on a totally new level.
Well, yeah. That was the beginning of this charade, late 90's. Prices started going up for any half-talented dumbwit. Flops everywhere.

Unfortunately, yes. Any unproven little shit will cost you an arm and a leg. Real Madrid didn't help matters with that ridiculous Bale transfer.

:D

There are people here that are willing to pay whatever it takes for Dybala though, like we are talking about Aguero, not Dybala.
That's the thing that does my head in the most.

I mean, when were all :tuttosport: like crazy for Aguero, we had good reason. Dude was already a fuckin' superstar. Sure, we do have more of a chance to sign Dybala than we did Aguero, but the difference in class/talent between the two is massive.

We'll get him for 25-30 million cash plus players or not at all.
25M is the absolute most we should offer for him.

Aguero isn't even that great.

Dybala is a shot in the dark, 30m could be a bargain if he turns out to be the next big thing or a total waste of money if not.

He's undeniably talented and skilled but again it'll all come down to how much of a chance taker Marotta is, which if i remember right, he really isn't one. And whether or not the reports about those 40m+ are true. We can't compete with sugar daddy clubs.

We took a chance with Morata.20M on an expiring contract was seen as 'too much' at the time. And now we consider that price a bargain almost.

I can see people being pleasantly surprised by Dybala.

He's one of the best finishers in the game, top 3.

The will of the player is important here. Other teams offered more for Morata, as confirmed by Marotta, but he wanted to come here so we had a long and complex set of negotiations with Real Madrid to reach that €20m agreement and detailed clauses. Nothing like that is going to happen with Dybala. Zamparini isn't going to allow us such a deal, he wants the most money, and Dybala doesn't seem like a player who will have his heart set on coming here if overseas clubs really are offering silly wages.

I dint disagree. But 30m is not that big of a price nowadays. And this guy is likely gonna come on pretty cheap wages too.
Over that amount and we are most likely gonna have a problem.

Falcao was by far the best striker in the world when he was at his best. Absolute class. Good at every aspect of being a number 9.
Aguero is more complete than both of them.I do agree tho that Falcao on form was one of the best finishers in Europe
