He was for 2-3 months to end the season, against the minnows of Serie A.

And then he had a shit Euros. He's nowhere near consistent enough to be called the best CM in the world right now.
he has been very consistent last season and apart from a period when he was out of form, this season too. he plays 2 years at a very high level apart from a period he missed games due to injury and recovery. Euro lol, youve been rofling all tournament how hes been misused, now youre giving me this "hes had a shit Euros"

Pogba is a GOAT talent so it's obvious he'll be rated over his talent and hype but one must be seriously delusional to think he is anywhere near as consistent as Higuain is now or even when he was younger for that matter.

how is scoring a hattrick vs Korea and one goal in a 3-1 win vs Mexico being "Argentinas best player"?
He was their top scorer and most dangerous player all tournament. He also sat out the game against Greece or likely would have scored more. His winning goal against Mexico was the reason they won that game and even got to the QFs. He was tied for 2nd top scorer of the tournament. and best goals-games ratio of anyone there.

He was pretty obviously Argentina's best performer.

Higuain's season is quite clearly better. Especially when you see he played 7 less games.
one is a CF played in a team thats sole purpose was to get him as much scoring chances as possible. the other was a key member in the team that won Serie A and was on the verge of knocking Bayern out. 25 goals and assists are extraordinary numbers for a CM, especially if hes that young

Of course he was played out of position. Doesn't change the fact he had a shit Euros. Would that have changed if he had been played in his proper position? Likely. But the best CM in the world according to you should not have fallen off a cliff performance-wise just because he was played in a different part of the midfield.

The obvious answer is that he's nowhere near as consistent and versatile as some make him out to be, if being shifted to another part of the midfield makes him play like shit.

Short stretches of dominance don't mean shit yet. I reserve final judgment on Pogba until he performs consistently.

he scored the 2nd goal in when Argentina already had a 1-0 lead, Tevez scored the 1st and the 3rd (it was 3-0 by the 52nd minute). Mexico scored their goal at 77th minute. if thats a winning goal then i dont know
