Cool.

I agree with you. Do you think the club is going all-in for CL with the idea to keep Paul for one more year, and sell him next summer to balance the books?

Class midfield options are kind of light this summer, so perhaps we wait for the opportunity next summer. I just don't get Pogba wanting to leave this summer, especially with the signings we have made, and labour Europa League obscurity.
For sure, we are far more aware of our strengths in Europe now. I think the board kind of has a pulse on the team, and realise they may need to make some uncharacteristic short term decisions keeping the change of guard in mind, a couple of years from now. Which is why, I could even see us make a move for someone like Mascherano, to help us obtain the immediacy in results.

Regards the Pogboom deal, it's a bit of a double edged sword. Seeing the rate at which he is growing, maybe the board knows where they will have to cap off as far as their wage limits go. And with Madrid not biting the bait despite the ban, they probably realise that Mourinho will build his team from the ground up in season one, and pay a premium for it if required, especially when it coincides with all the new money the TV deal brings in.

Though for the player himself, his biggest leap as a professional footballer, would happen this season, if he stayed with Juve, and be part of one of the most complete teams in Europe. Simply crazy, anyone would trade this team for the current United. Just cannot wrap my head around it myself. And it's crazy how we lose in the middle if he leaves, even with the acquisition of Higuain. Just hope Beppe doesn't reinvest in the likes of Witsel. Herrera is where it's at.

Paul:

You can either be the #10 of a world class team, win the Champions League, and Ballon D'or

or

Go become the #6 on a Europa League-level team in England
:agree: Can't stop laughing bout all the Luke Shaw's, Chris Smalling's and Daily Blind's they have in their team.

Sir Alex left that rainy shithole just in time. (no offense @Nicholas :p)

Pardon my ignorance, but there really is a player named Daily Blind?
