Wages are a factor indeed. But Morata, Zaza and potentially Pereyra will be off the books. No doubt Higuain + their replacements will bump our wage bill up but it won't be a ridiculous increase. The small roles that Zaza and Pereyra played last season could probably be filled from players we already own tbh I.E Mandrgora and whatever last resort CF we have.

even so Higuain is potentially going to earn nearly twice as much as our highest paid player, getting morata, zaza and pereyra off the books so to say doesn't really add up to much in wages saved where as selling Pogba would.

most of the footballing world would literally laugh at a hamsik > ozil, aka top assists maker in europe over the past 5-6 seasons, world cup winning german no.10 real madrid man v hamsik who is at napoli.
but besides, dybala is a great talent, but long long long distance between him and even aguero at his age.

aguero aged 20 scored 27 goals in a season for atletico.
dybala is turning 23 in november, has 23 goals this season

at the moment yes, but take pogba out - and judging by city's heavy moves in the transfer market, do u still feel that the case? (honest q)
Last I checked Ozils playing for Arsenal, madrids man mention was supposed to automatically make him a better player? If Hamsik wasn't a loyal player he woulda played for some major clubs already as well, there wasn't a shortage of offers for him in the past. They both have that natural talent, but Hamsik edges it with his midfield presence and more impact on his team.
Aguero was hell of a player at Atleti, in my personal opinion he didn't fully made it to his full potential. became too stocky and lost that sharpness in epl and like I said injuries didn't help either. Not to mention Dybala's turned into a SS since joining Juve and he already dictates attacking plays better than Aguero, you need to watch more of him.

Hamsik last 3 seasons - 28 goals, 36 assists
Ozil last 3 seasons - 20 goals, 43 assists

it has to be said that Hamsik was also playing as a CM this season. and pulled these numbers in the more defensive and closed down league
sure, following that argument one could argue ozil plays in a tougher league overall in terms of quality. one could make the typical argument that serie A bar juve and possibly is not up to the level of EPL teams. and ozil has done it before at real. his stats are ridiculous - and always consistent. more assists than messi, david silva, ronaldo, ribery etc

at real madrid he was a beast too. hamsik is a great player, but ozil has done it at the highest level.

ozil assists the likes of giroud btw. no proper striker, give him an out and out striker (like he had when he had ronaldo) or even a decent one - like harry kane or someone and ozil wud be hitting 20+ assists. hamsik has had higuain, who, though not elite, is still an excellent finisher of chances.

also, ozil's ozil's vision one of the best in the world. hamsik is the better goalscorer, but he doesnt have ozil's brain. doubt many do

I don't think Hamsik is as good as Ozil at all however the EPL quality argument kind of went tits up this season particularly considering Leicester won by a larger margin than Juve, Bayern or Barca.

The Giroud-Higuain point is valid though. Much easier to pad your stats assisting a World Class striker in red hot form as opposed to Giroud who is static as hell.

hamsik, loyal player? if real madrid etc genuinely wanted him as a starting no.10 he'd say no? really?

aguero has become a pure goalscorer now, tap in merchant, but old aguero was something else. dybala is a talent, but i see other strikers reaching up one point. harry kane is 22 and scored 31 goals, for example. lukaku is same age and is on 28 goals i think

the point is, Serie A is the hardest league to play in for offensive players since they focus more on defense than others. teams park buses not just vs Juve, but other top teams as well. and lol at EPL being a tough league, id score 5 goals if i played there. and i suck.

Hamsik is more effective and is a better two way player. the only thing Ozil has over him is the incredible passing. thats it

Sanchez also plays there, so that evens it out

Higuain>Aguero
Pogba>Özil
Bonucci>any PL defender
Buffon>De Gea
basically. Serie A best XI would rape EPL best XI

hamsik > ozil is a 'hipster' opinion, much like saying, i don't know - paul scholes > zidane

what leicester did was a once in a life time - it will almost never happen again. and i dont think its a tits up argument - the whole football world is full of upsets. wales at the euros, iceland...even portugal..

even 'atletico' won a league.

i think what people need to realise is the premier league's socialist model is vastly different to that of other leagues. they had decent players under a manager and the top clubs dropped off. this season was a one off, but i dont see a leicester happening again - not with the influx of money, new managers and talent to the epl
