Pogba buys house in Barcelona
By Football Italia staff

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba purchased a house in Barcelona, prompting speculation of an imminent transfer.

The Frenchman could be one of the biggest transfers in world football this summer should he choose to leave Bianconeri, with the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain among others willing to pay €100m for him.

The player caused worry among his Italian fans by purchasing a house in Barcelona, where the Blaugrana play.

However, a statement released by his real estate agency Proto Group Ltd claims that the purchase is not football-related.

“The purchase of a villa in Barcelona is in no way related to footballing matters,” said the company's director general, as reported by La Repubblica. “It is purely an estate investment.

“We wish to state this publicly because our client is a famous footballer and under great media attention in this period, so that this operation will certainly be reported by the Spanish newspapers, fuelling journalistic speculation that we do not wish to encourage.

“The same thing happened a few weeks ago with Lionel Messi, who purchased an attic in Paris through us, or Cristiano Ronaldo who bought an attic in New York.”

Nonetheless Pogba's story is bound to engender some speculation as it happened at the same time as his decision to stop paying rent on his house in Turin.

Well malta has good beaches and off-season is a great place to be, but maltese entrepreneurial spirit is about to destroy much of it. Some people call it greed, others short-sightedness but the overall result is that concrete is associated with progress. That is true only at the right place and time, but that greed expands greatly our acceptable values.

I want him to explode onto the scene in the Euros. I want the football world to see what this boy is capable of and hopefully he can lead his team to glory. If he is staying with us for one or two more seasons, I want to milk him for commercial revenues as much as possible while we have him. I want him to be our ronaldinho and make neutrals watch Juve just to see what he will do next. He can push the Juve brand to the next level if he shows up to the Euros on fire.
