I don't know but he has to step up and be a decisive player to justify his reputation and alleged price tag at one point.
He doesn't. The price tag is just to put off other teams ;)

IMO all he can improve is his decision making, otherwise he's already a beast. He'll never score and assist enough goals to satisfy people, after all he plays as B2B, he has a lot of defensive work on his shoulders. If we moved him to AM we could expect much more but at this point he's far from being bad. He's decisive for us but not as often as we would like him to but we have problems elsewhere and it's his first season as our MF leader. Tonight I expect nothing 'decisive' from him tbh. We'll have 20-30% of possession and our players will once again forget how to string 3 passes altogether - it's hard to be decisive when the whole team plays badly.

he'll always be a Minion with a €100m price tag. only thing i expect him to
do today is making the wrong decisions just to scream at teammates afterwards.

:xfinger:
he screams at himself :shifty:

I agree. Would you say it's make or break for his reputation?
Definitely not. This is a team without its 2 best strikers, and its midfield brain. Pogba is a CM. He shouldn't really be expected to carry our injury laden squad against a star studded team like Bayern and after having drawn the first leg at home.

We should expect Pogba to have a good game and do his part. Demanding that he carries the team against this kind of opposition largely by himself is not fair to the guy. You wouldn't have demanded the same from any other world class central midfielder or even CAM in football. Would you demand that Iniesta, James, Ozil, Rakitic, Kroos or even Zidane lift this Juve (with the injuries) higher than Bayern on their own turf or else think he is over rated?

We didn't demand the same from Pirlo in 2012 man and he was one the best registas in the history of the game.

Not fair to him at all, but I will say he needs to be a leader on the field and lead the midfield today. Does he have to defeat Bayern? NO but he does need to show the composure and strength to step up in the absence of other players

Play his part? His part should be to be our star player and part of that is to step up and carry the team when the other stars aren't there to share the burden.

The same went for Pirlo, when he was nullified by Mandzukic we were fucked.

Exactly.
And you when Pirlo failed to carry us past Bayern you figured he is an over rated player?

There is no way thinking "Pogba has to lift this squad past Bayern in Germany or else he is over rated" is fair to Pogba. We would not have such high demands from any other CM in the world today or probably ever. He just needs to have a good game.

He needs to dig deeper, is what I mean to say. He had a lot of time to do that at the start of our season and he didn't. We're looking to him to take on more responsibility of leadership.

We need our best players to help fill the gap when our squad is depleted. It's time Pogba cemented his status as a world class midfielder and this game is an opportunity for him to do that, but of course it's not the only opportunity he's had or will have.

I hope that's clear because I'm far too excited about this game to get bogged down into a long-ass exchange :D

“This is the first sponsor contract I’ve signed and it’s a very important decision for me. I chose adidas because we have shared passions and values,” said Pogba about his new partnership. “adidas has the same vibe as I do, on and off the pitch”.

The new design was co-designed by Pogba and the brand, using his preferred black and gold colors. His love for dance, music and skill is represented by the words “Pogbance” and “Pogboom”, each placed on a different shoe. The in-sole features the words “I’m here to create”, referencing adidas’ latest campaign that kicked-off with Lionel Messi a few months ago. These new cleats are an exclusive design for him and will not be available for the public.

Ace 16+ Purecontrol are the first top level laceless cleats, feturing a Primeknit-based upper that adjusts to the foot and deliver a more natural touch and feel. Other stars who have used these cleats are Mesut Özil, Oscar and Ivan Rakitic.
