I think there may be a disconnect between the notion of a #10 type player and one who actually wears that number.
To wear the #10 for Juventus doesn't necessarily mean that the player has to be a fantasista type. To me, it means more to the character of the player that is willing to take that responsibility of what the number means more than anything else. Is Pogba your prototypical #10? No, but neither was Tevez. I honestly believe that it has to do more with what the player believes he is capable of , being a leader on the pitch.
Gozte and to a lesser extent, Draxler have a playing style that may suit what the notion of a #10 should be, but that doesn't mean that one or the other are now totally out of the picture either, because neither one of them would have received it anyway.
If this is something that Pogba truly asked for, then I can't see how anyone could do anything but applaud this young man for being so willing to take this on his shoulders.
I stated several times in the past few weeks that I really feel that he believes that the squad is being built around him, and I think that he enjoys that. Is it better to be the 4th or 5th most recognizable player on Barcelona or Real Madrid, or the undisputed #1 player on Juventus?
That is something that only he can decide on.
