Didn't hurt that Pogs lead the France unders to a WC title either.
Age is so overrated when it comes to leadership.

Some players just have that built into their DNA, some don't, regardless of age or experience.

Pogba has it. Vidal, to me, does not. And I love Vidal, but I never saw him as a leader. A leader sets by example both on and off the pitch

No one's been a leader above the others here, perhaps Buffon but dressing-room wise. For example I wouldn't call Vidal a leader last season, if I have to pick one it'd be Tevez most of times. The truth is that there are many "leaders" in this team cooperating, starting from Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Evra, although just after one season, Pirlo and Vidal before, etc. Soon Marchisio and Pogba, hopefully. And when often one of these players wasn't up to this form or was unavailable, the others coped for him... Don't think we lack "leaders" for the upcoming season. Morata and Dybala looks like guys that can become leaders in a very short time too.

Of course Vidal and Tevez were leaders. They are established experienced players who decide games and are technical references of the squad.

But our true leader is Buffon. Also Bonucci now, Chiellini to a certain extent. Marchisio didn't look like it before, but he's looking more and more capitano material.

I definitely don't think this team needs leadership. But one fact to be considered is that we have only one experienced guy in the whole offensive end (CFs + SSs + AMs), and it's his first year at Juve. This doesn't cause lack of leadership, but technical references for the group. A guy to pass when shit is bad, etc.

Pogba just said he likes the idea of being an AM.

It could be worth the shot, I guess.

I still am of the belief that he sees what is going on around him, and he thinks that the club is being built around him, and that he will be the marquee player, the centerpiece.

I feel that this will convince him to stay.
No way... he is deeefinitely leaving, very likely next summer. Can't see him staying with us, given his very high level of ambition and the fact that there are 3 clubs in the world right now which are above all others.

It's only understandable that he leave, don't blame him. He wants to win the CL constantly, fight for balon d'or and make loads of money.

No way we are keeping this guy, I'm pretty sure next summer he's done.

Just hope Morata stays. That would hurt, to see them both leaving at the same time.

If making him the AM we are missing and building the team around makes him happy..lets do it then. Maybe this is our chance to imprint that sense of leadership and juve belonging on Pogba, so maybe.....maayybe, when the inevitable comes, he chooses Juve over Barcelona because he would prefer to be a leader here, rather than another filler support of Messi.

Its worth a shot

Think about it guys..he has great work rate and has defensive training as a DM, he has imposing physique, good dribbles, great shots and innate technical skills that others dont. If he can work in turning himself into a creator...we can go somewhere

Did I read his interview right, when asked if he was staying 100%? Did he reply saying 'I'm here as you can see.' That's still open ended to me. Maybe not this season, but he's not being emphatic about the decision to stay. Would have required a simple Yes. Doesn't seem like he wants to commit long term. That is if his answer is as I described above.

Honestly though, if Pogba is to become our AM, we need another CM.

If our midfield looks like this:

Marchisio
Pereyra-Khedira
Pogba

We only have Sturaro and Padoin as our CM backups, for 3 positions mind you.

Asamoah is still most definitely seen as an LB as the latest Allegri interview on the player tells us.

I'm glad that we're refraining from reading too much into this.

The player who's thread we are in, has actually shown plenty of leadership qualities despite his age, seen him countless times take his teammates in his arms and talk to them, calmreassure them, encouraging fella. Lots of times to Vidal, Morata, Pereyra etc.

Loved how he consoled Pirlo in the final, you would think the roles would be reversed, the super iconic old legend calming down the youngster, but Paul seems to be quite empathic towards his teammates, small gestures, but there when he is needed.

Marchisio is a decent leadership material, he is someone they all respect and understand he is someone who truly gets what needs to be done to succeed as a Juve player.

Licht is far from a leader material IMO, way too violatile and is more likely to become a pain in the ass towards his teammates when this get rough then lead them.
those pics, I could cry

agree with everything
