Still, i dont see the great advantage you talk. yes Vidal in a higher positon can press sooner.. but so does pogba. Both players are very good at pressing abd bulliying opponents. Defensively speaking, theres no great difference in gains...as both players press very good and Pogba has a good way to recover balls too. But on the ofensive, theres a no contest for me.
One really wonders if your have seen any game this season. There is a huge gap between vidal pressing and pogba trying the same. Vidal ist like a terrier who does not let go and runs after the opponent even if the opponent has passed him already. Pogba has some bright moments here and there but is light years away in terms of persistency and work rate. Pogba will try to get the ball, fail and let the opponent run away with the ball. Pogba is just not mature enough yet. Too many situations where something does not work out for him and he rather throws his arms up instead of keep hassling the opponent like vidal.

Wich is why Pogba plays considerably better with Marchisio behind him, compared to Pirlo, because then he actually has the clearence to do so

Looks who appears from the Darkness, Ranieri man.

You are diminishing Pogba´s work to justify your point. One of the reasons he is played B2B is because he offers covering on midfield. Like s aid before, he is no Vidal, but is not like peeps past him like if he was Pirlo. Not even close.

The point about him being not matured or whatever u want to say, doesnt mean Vidal should be s shoe in as an AM compared to Pogba, because the latter is clearly a more attacking minded player.
Again, why you select an AM for his pressing?...when logics tells you that an AM should well..attack?.

Im not saying that Allegri is nuts for using Vidal there..i know he sus him for his defensive coverage.. but thats not my point. My point is that Pogba has what it takes to play an attacking role, talentwise.

the point is, in our formation, our "AM" (or most high up the pitch CM) doesent necessarily need to be a creative player. the work Vidal does there is immense, watch the Real games again and you can see how much work he did. Pogba doing that would be a waste simply. he is better of playing on the left where he has more room to play, can drift wide, and is a bigger threat from outside the box. to put it simple, its not about if Pogba can or can not put in the work Vidal is doing, its about his other talents being wasted doing that.

That's my point too: in our system offensive creativity is not what's required from our furthest-forward midfielder. What we have instead is a pressing monster in Vidal. @Hydde I get your point that Vidal and Pogba are similar players but for me Pogba doesn't offer the same kind of dogged ball chasing that Vidal does. Pogba's style and various attributes make him better suited to playing deeper in our midfield.

And i agree with that, i dont think i have said he does. Vidal is head and shoulders our best chaser and ball winner.
As things are now that's what we require in the advanced midfield position. Maybe next year we'll look to use Dybala there instead and we'll have MVP mark II in the centre of the pitch :touched:

Pogba: 'Juventus will give everything’
By Football Italia staff

Paul Pogba warns Juventus will 'give everything’ in the Champions League final, and assures - 'I’ve never said this will be my last match for Juventus’.
The Bianconeri take on Barcelona on Saturday in Berlin, and Pogba spoke to French newspaper L’Equipe at the club’s media day.

“It’s a dream come true,” the former Manchester United man admitted.

“We all know how Barça play, they have the best attack in the world. You can do all the tactical preparation in the world, but that’s not what will win you the game.
“We’ll need to be aggressive, and maybe have a little luck. We know we’re not favourites, but we’ll give everything. It’s a final, you never know.

“[Lionel] Messi is Messi, he’s probably the best player in the world at the moment. We know Barça are a great team, the best in the world, but we’re in a final and we have nothing to lose.”
The Catalan giants are one of the sides linked with Pogba, though they have a transfer ban until January, but the Frenchman is in no mood to listen to the speculation.

“People can believe what they want. For me, this is a final, a huge game, I’m focused on that and nothing else. I’ve never said this will be my last match for Juventus.
“I’m very happy here, and it brings me a lot of pleasure. I’m in the final of the Champions League, I’ve always wanted to play these kind of games.
“Would I like to play with Messi one day? I don’t know.”
Despite his fine form this season, the 22-year-old has struggled slightly since returning from injury, and was told off by Coach Max Allegri for showboating in the draw with Verona.
“I’ve recovered well,” Pogba said, addressing his injury concerns.

“I feel much better than in the first three matches.
“Allegri’s words? I take them as advice, I have to be focused for the whole match. It’s the way I am, it’s not showing off, it’s just the way I play my football, but what the Coach said is true.
“It’s always been that way with all my Coaches. I don’t do it on purpose, but sometimes I have to release a little bit, it’s me, it’s the person.
“When I hear that it wakes me up a little bit, it makes me open my eyes. I want to prove that what people say or think is wrong.
“Will I play differently against Barça? No, I always play my football, sometimes it comes off and sometimes it doesn’t, I just need more concentration.
“If I play against Barça, since it’s a final, my concentration will be at 100 per cent for 90 minutes.”

Pogba wants Barcelona?
By Football Italia staff

British media are reporting that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has rejected Manchester City in favour of a move to Barcelona next summer.

The Catalan giants face Pogba’s Bianconeri in the Champions League final on Saturday, but have had a transfer embargo imposed on them until June 2016.

However, the Daily Star has reported that Pogba is willing to turn down an offer from the Citizens, which would make him one of the world’s highest-paid midfielders, and stay in Turin for another year.

The newspaper claims that Barca have identified the France international as a long-term replacement for Xavi and that a source has confirmed his interest in a switch.

“His options are unbelievable if he wants to leave Juventus, but he’s told friends that Barcelona are his no.1 choice. The attraction is obvious,” the unnamed source told Starsport.

Barcelona were handed a 14-month transfer ban in April after being found guilty of breaching FIFA rules on the transfer of players under 18.

However, the 22-year-old is believed to be willing to wait and could stay at the Old Lady for another season, turning down a €62m package from Man City in the process.

Media sure doing anything they can trying to destabilise us for he final.
