Juve ‘reject €80m for Pogba’
By Football Italia staff

Transfer links continue to follow Paul Pogba, with the latest suggesting that Barcelona have bid €80m for him, only for Juventus to turn that down.

The Blaugrana are one of a number of Europe’s top sides said to be in pursuit of the highly-rated Frenchman, and are seen by Tuttosport to have taken action.

The Turin publication asserts that the Catalans, currently banned from acting in the transfer market by FIFA until January 2016, have tabled an €80m bid for Pogba.

Whilst having the intention of starting payments on that during this summer and allowing the midfielder to remain with Juve until the summer of 2016, it is understood that the Bianconeri have rejected the offer.

Tuttosport suggest that this is motivated by Juve valuing Pogba at no less than €100m. The newspaper also reiterates that Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea remain in the frame.

Paul Pogba is the biggest name in the transfer news headlines these days. Many top clubs are interested in the French midfielder, with Manchester City taking concrete steps recently. The Citizens sent Soriano and Beguiristain to Torino last week where they met with Juve to discuss potential players to use in the deal (including Yaya Toure', Dzeko and Jovetic who are all expected to leave regardless of the potential Pogba deal), as well as Pogba and his agent Raiola to go over their project. This is isn't the first time Manchester City met with Raiola, they also had discussions in London previously.

There are other clubs in the race. PSG continues to pursue Pogba but the player so far isn't convinced by the destination, as well as Barcelona who has made an offer deemed too low (they could increase their bid after the president election, but they also couldn't acquire him until after transfer ban expires). Juventus is waiting for the right offer, maybe from Chelsea or Manchester United who could make a bid of up to €100 million, an offer so high that would make them consider selling even though they have no need to complete the deal. Pogba has suitors all over Europe, City is trying to anticipate the other contenders.

i wouldn't be surprised at all if he'd stay for at least an other year. considering our '15 cl campaign, juve have a cl contender team even without pogba. let's further improve his contract, and he'll have no reasons to move elsewhere.

I think it's very simple- if Paul wants to leave he will, otherwise he'll stay. If he does ask to leave, and there'll be an auction between Barca, Real, City, Bayern etc, I think he will go for more than 100 mil.

Well, whatever happens (if anything happens) this summer, then Marotta better deal quickly and not wait until the end of the mercato so he can reinvest with the new blank check we get.
