Marchisio/Sturaro

Vidal/Pereyra-----------------------Pogba

We don't need Veratti, i would rather play marchisio at DM.
We need another B2B midfielder who has potential to become a great. I suggest someone like J.Mauri of Parma/ Tielsman or Gianluca Gaudino Bayern.

Verratti would be a good choice, post Pogba. He'd stay here a while. 20 is fair I'd say. 25 maybe.
:shifty: the big wages from england, spain etc or ambition for CL glory don't apply to him??

is it because he's a Juve fan, he's Italian or that bigger clubs won't try to sign him for some reason, for a while.

He will earn good money, be in a prestigious club in italy..maybe the only one left. We could get stronger with him.

But like someone said.. unless we get deals with players...money is useless for us. We would be able to only buy depth , some prospects and maybe a dude in the range of 30-40 mils (maybe overpaying).

Anyways,,, if things go to it... we should not accept less than 100M. Bale was sold for that amount and he is nowhere as hyped or wanted as Pogba.

Id say he would be more inclined to stay in Italy, being Italian and a Juve fan. Not saying he definitely won't leave though.

pogba aint leaving anytime son so it's pointless to discuss this. also for him to get bids of more than 80m(which is the minimum amount we will consider i think) he will have to score goals in the double digits for a couple of season like vidal

Are you talking about Brazilian Ronaldo, the chubby one?

Cuz he certainly played for Madrid...
Correct, when he was overweight and not the same anymore.

The prime ronaldo 9 however played at barcelona

I agree, situation is totally different then it was back in 2001. No big player would want to come to serie A now
Let me expand this fact

The "big transfers" we made in 2001 ?

Buffon, Nedved, Thuram ?

All came from serie a.

What "big transfers" can we do in the current serie a ?

He did pretty well at Madrid even with how chubby he was. Sublime player.

Current Serie A. There are a number of pretty talented looking young players, like Dybala, Anderson, Perin, etc.

The bigger problem is that we currently seem to get overcharged massively for every player we go for in Serie A. At least in relation to what the players have accomplished.

Zidane also went for an insane fee compared to what star players of the era were sold for. So we had the ability to buy 3 very good players with funds that were already pretty established. Now... A young established player is going to cost us 40 mil+ so Pogba at around 80-100m is not likely to get us 3 players (ignoring the fact of wages).

I'd prefer us to break our wage cap over the next 1-2 years. If Pogba starts turning into a Ballon D'Or candidate next year, we really should be willing to pay him 7-8 mil a year after tax, as he would clearly be in a class of his own on this team. Hopefully our revenue will have increased as well, and we can afford to raise our max wage player to that area, and attract a couple player in a wage bracket just below that as in 5-7 mil after tax. Those kind of wages will make us quite competitive in attracting Stars here to make runs at CL glory, which will help keep players like Pogba here.

I've said this before, I think once our stadium is paid off we will see a big jump in what we can spend.
