I'm really glad about the length of the contract. It's 90% certain that he'll leave before 2019 in my eyes, but at least the deal gives us a rather generous amount of leverage.

And the deluded little kid in me still hopes that for some reason he could actually stay with us for life :D

I think the only way we keep Paul long term is building a top 5 team around him in the next 3 years or so. If we are consistantly getting to the Semis every year there isnt a big reason to leave at that point unless the money is far better. Plus if he stays he could be a future captain and in 3 years he would be in the discussion

To be able to keep Pogba and Vidal in the coming years...we will need to seriously compete on the CL. Theres no buts of ifs.

He would be dumb to reject offers from better suietd teams that practically double his salary and more.

Just think about it for a sec if that opportunity arised to you.

And since getting far in the CL for us is like winning the lotto... i have serious doubts they will stay. But we can all hope right?. He is a beats of a player with flair and fancy like some say here. It will be a real shame when we lose this man.

I can't see him leaving any time soon if he sings a new deal and if the figures presented above are correct. Very few clubs in the world could offer him better conditions. His future is here. One of the prerequisites of course is that Juve remains competitive side. Qualifying for the CL every year is imperative, because failing to reach CL even for one year would put us in a tight spot.

Real, City and PSG could offer him that, others can't.

Big deal. He is like the most coveted midfielder right now. If he was put on sale and a bidding war started, i can see those crazy teams pulling out crazier offers for him.
And he is not earning 5.5 salary because the report is not yet official.

I love when people say that so easily, like it's pocket change, "double his salary".

Doubling his recent reported 5.5mln salary would make him the highest earner in EPL.
 People forget that we're talking about net salary here. His gross earning would be more than 10m. Doubling that amount would be difficult for most clubs today, bar already mentioned ones. I only hope that we'll avoid to get ourselves into position where he'd have one year of contract left. The deal needs to be struck in the next few months, otherwise sell in January.

Why would we even bother offering such a huge salary and keeping him happy if we wanted to sell him?

It should be pretty obvious by now that we don't intend to sell any of our top players.
