I thought he was having a meh game for his standard and then booooom.
Yeah, I thought he was pretty poor for the most part.

Obviously there are limits as to how much you are going to criticise a player who comes away with a goal and an assist, but he could/should have contributed an awful lot more to that game.

He made some bad choices. But he's still young.

For example that run where him and vidal were on the breakaway. I think with experience he would capitalize on that better.

Are people really nitpicking Pogba after goal and assist? He made few poor decisions during the game, but all things considering he had a great game, showed his talent, did what was expected from him to do in a position he played. For a 20 year old he's been fairly consistent performer so far.

Here's another person who is 'nitpicking':

“Tonight Pogba could’ve done a lot better. I’m not joking! I’ve certainly seen better performances from Paul. At times the goal fogs the vision of the whole game, but I get angry as people forget everything around it.”

Conte is going about it in a more positive way tbh

He's basically saying there's room for improvement despite Pogba already playing so well. It's his job to bring the best out in his players and not let them get too comfortable

People who are focusing on the negatives today are just being pessimistic.

He's doing it for some other reasons, one being that as a 20 year old too much praise is never good to get. We, as fans, don't have to be that critical.

Just because we expect even better from him doesn't mean we are "nitpicking" him.

And yes, he had much better games than this one even without scoring screamers.

I'm not debating whether he had better games, but only that tonight's one can't be categorized as his poor showing for the most part of the game. Apart form the goal and assist he did good defensive job, plenty of recovered balls and good overall involvement.

He could have done better today in the small things and game control. This excites the hell ou of me because some players have a stamp on the game like today and you are happy he made an impact. I look at it as a compliment to him to be able to force his way on the game even when not being mentally sharp at times(making bad decisions) Not being negative just glad to see him starting to effect the game in different ways
