you're wrong, he's much better
Pogba is more flashy and all but that doesn't mean he's significantly better. Verratti is a better playmaker in any case, we all saw how Pogba struggled to play in Pirlo's role.

I agree that Pogba is better but not by a large margin.

Veratti's marketing level is nowhere near Pogba's though.
That is true.

You guys should try to watch how Verratti plays for PSG instead of forming an opinion without having watched him play often. He's already a fantastic player and will surely be one of the best CMs in the world as well.

Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges in any case, they're different kind of players. Verratti is a playmaker in the Xavi mold while Pogba is more of a box to box midfielder.

Yeah sure you're the only one who watches Verratti, as if the rest of us haven't been following him ever since he was linked with us since his Pescara times. And FYI he plays DLP like Busquets not Xavi. There are better young midfielders at Atletico Madrid and Athletico Bilbao.

Yeah, Verrati stays too deep and often goes with long passes. Don't see him being similar to Xavi. But either way, I don't care for his style. He'll be a poor man's Pirlo the rest of his life. Pogba will make his own name.

Oh, I'm sure some of the people do but I don't think the majority of users here watch Serie B and PSG regularly.
He currently plays as a DLP but I think he'd be even better in Xavi's position, he's a very similar player to Xavi in my opinion. About your last sentence, I don't know as I don't watch La Liga.

I don't think that's such a bad thing, Pirlo is one of the best CMs of the last 20 years.

It's a good deal but it'd really hurt to lose Pogs and watch him become one of the world's best.

It'd only be worthwhile if we don't use the 40 mill for depdh players but for one great player like a Mata.

Swapping Pogba for Verratti+money would be the most logical thing to do if Pogba wants to leave. Replacing Pirlo will be extremely hard and Verratti is the closest thing to Pirlo we could possibly get.

We were doing fine before signing Pogba while we were horrible before having Pirlo. The problem would be to have Pirlo and Verrati play together since we are going to extend Pirlo's contract, which would be difficult. However, I'd still do it.

I don't buy all the crap about Pogba being all that better than Verratti. They're different players but I find quality playmakers like Verratti harder to find.

Don't get me wrong, I love Pogba, but it is far from the end of the world if he goes, especially if we get Verratti and some money in return.
I don't get this analogy. We're not Pirlo dependent for a while now and his eventual departure won't leave us in shambles; same goes for not replacing him with a player of similar characteristics. That team you're referring to (2010/11) needed major overhaul and Pirlo was the ultimate piece of puzzle, but we've played perfectly fine without him this season. Quality of our team has increased compared to those years.

One thin I'm sure of is that even if we get 60m we'd be crying like Man U fans. Right they got almost nothing from Pogba, even if they got about 40m (from pogba's sale to us), they spend 27m on Fellaini. We will probably get a player like him, and we will suffer seeing him shine for PSG. I can image this thread after every PSG game.

I really hope we keep him. He is going to be one of the best players in the world, no questions asked.
