As far as selling him, it seems a foregone conclusion that he won't be here in 3 years. So I think logically we should sell on the first offer than borders on absurd, rather than hold out for timing. Milan tried to hold on for dear life with Kaka and ended up losing out on quite a bit of cash. Man City tried to buy Kaka in 2009 for 107 million pounds. Instead Milan held on and got 70 million Euro from Real Madrid later that year.

If we get 130-140 million from a Man City or PSG, holding out to keep him for 6 more months is short sighted, especially if Real Madrid comes in and low balls us for like 80. Plus after that shitty Morata deal structure, if we do a deal I want to absolutely bend them over sideways.

When Zidane left Juve to Madrid he had already achieved legendary status as a Juve player before he departed. When Ronaldo left United to Madrid, he too achieved legendary status in Manchester before he left. Kaka made himself a legend at Milan before he left them and so did Shevchenko. This status can be achieved either by wearing the shirt for a very long time thus creating memorable moments or by delivering insane performances that give the team an insane push even if only for a short period of time.

Juve is not Tottenham so that super talented players can only think of it as a stepping stone without really caring how the fans will remember them or what they achieved wearing the club's shirt (like bale did). We are a top team and every player should want to leave his mark before they depart to better teams. I hope Pogba stays for two more years or so to achieve legendary status first before he leaves to become a Madrid Galactico. Juve is not at big as Madrid, Barca or Bayern today but its still too big to just nurture talents for these teams without them caring about what they have achieved in the squad.

This is how we should pitch it to Pogba. Mark your name next to the likes of Zizou and Platini by staying for a while and then go wherever you want to.
Well, Platini did peaked his career at juve

I mentioned Platini not as a player who left us for a better team but as a french legend. Pogba doesn't have to spend his entire career here to be a legend for Juve. He just have to provide some exceptional service for a modest time like Zizou or like Ronaldo at United.

Something can be said for his statement though. In absolute terms, Messi and Ronaldo are no doubt the best two footballers ever. That is because the level rises every year. Maradona in his prime was not even half the player they are now if you compare them in absolute terms.

But I think you should look at players in their own era and judge them by how they did in their time. For me the late nineties and early 2000's had an incredible amount of interesting players. Now the lack of character is annoying.
Messi and Ronaldo are streets ahead of any footballer currently playing the game but there is absolutely no doubts that the quality of defending across the planet has dropped compared to the 90s and 00s. That isn't up for debate. When you have someone like David Luiz going for 50m and who genuinely couldn't defend if his life depended on it, you know the art of defending has died.

There is definitely a lot of signs that he will be leaving in the summer or the one after. Our management saying plenty of times that we cant refuse a big offer and on other occasions that we cant give him the wages that others can and marrotta saying Ancellotti is making a white lie in saying he is not interested.

We also have his agent saying that he could always walk into PSG at any time and that madrid will probably buy him and recently he said he will leave in one or two seasons. Agents dont tell the media their players are for sale when they are not. They don't unsettle their players in the media if they are happy and performing and not looking to change clubs. By Raiola's behaviour we can see that Pogba is open for a move but is not exactly in a hurry to move and will take his time until the right suitors arrive.

Pogba himself has not publicly stated that he is staying. he is only saying that he is happy and growing at Juve implying that he is fine here but wont necessarily reject a good move. He is not dying to move and would only leave if the right deal with the right suitors is made.

So yeah he doesn't look like he will be staying, at least not for long.

Let's say by some extreme stroke of luck (or extreme EuroMaxx genius :D) we win the CL this season or the next, will letting him go be easier? Please discuss.

then he would have no reason to leave. winning the CL is the only thing that could get him to think going away from here according to many

"We will do everything within out limits to hold on to Pogba, but we must not forget Italy is a country in transition," Marotta said. "The problem we have is that of offers coming in from other clubs offering him a salary that we are not able to match due to our financial situation.

"At the moment, there's no reason to believe that Pogba will definitely leave Juventus for another team, but we have to bear in mind that we cannot compete with the wages that are being paid elsewhere. We have our limits."

ALLEGRI
"Everything has a value in life, unfortunately, and the outstanding players are hard to replace, but things always move on in football," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Of course, Pogba is only 21 and he's got the quality to get even better. For now, let's just enjoy having him. He is destined to become the best player in the world."

What I get out of this is that:
- We definitely can't give him the wages that others can. This isn't surprising though with the salaries that PSG just throws around (10MM net, etc)
- It's not that we can't refuse a big offer, just that everything including Pogba has a price. So Juve probably has a valuation that it'd be willing to pull the trigger for.

currently we cant. but the wages arent even the problem right now as he renewed the contract. we can still reject any offer if Pogba wants to stay
